In this study we will address adultery and generalize all other types of sins. There has been a couple of people who have asked, “Can God forgive adultery? The short answer is YES! God can and will forgive all sins. Just think of the worse of the worse of all the sins of mankind and God can and will forgive all sins, even Adultery. But there is one sin He will never forgive nor can be forgiven, and that is the unpardonable sin, the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. found in:

Mathew 12:31&32.

“And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, (and here is what “blasphemy of the Holy Spirit” is defined as,) but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.” (meaning; never.)

So all sin can be forgiven by God Almighty, the Father, through His Only Begotten Son Lord Jesus, revealed by His Holy Spirit, except for the unpardonable sin, the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. And God Almighty through His Holy Word and through His Only Son, He raised up the standards of living which we all fall short of. Adultery is as The Lord Jesus taught in:

Matthew 5:27-30.

Adultery.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ (the act there of.) But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.” (Meaning everything that causes you to sin cut it away from your life. Because there are consequences.)

The Consequences Of Adultery And All Other Sins.

Just because you are truly forgiven by God Almighty, as you come to Him and confession is made to Him as you turn away from adultery and other sins and you forgive yourself. Doesn’t mean you are delivered from the repercussions of that sin or sins . As the saying goes “Every action has a consequence.” Now the forgiveness of sins means that you are spiritually forgiven and that God has promised eternal Salvation for those who turn away from adultery. But their is physical and emotional payment such as: broken marriages, which leads to broken homes and families. Also the battle of fornication or other sexual immorality, that one will battle between the fleshes will and the Spirits will. And what goes with that battle is the feeling of guilt, feelings and thoughts of uncleanness and unworthiness, which can lead to depression, defeat which can then leads to backsliding in a believers life. The loss of faith, which then leads to the loss of Salvation. So in short, it really isn’t worth a moment of pleasure for a life time of hell. You can lose your Salvation.

We must keep in mind that without faith you cannot be saved nor can you please God the Father. This is why the devil attacks our faith through temptations, to shipwreck our faith through sins. Also must keep in mind that all sins will be exposed, especially adultery. for marriage is a Holy, God ordained Institution between a man and a woman  that should never be taken lightly nor corrupted. Further more it is the light of Christ Jesus that reveals hidden darkness. It is for our own spiritual good that He does this. He is The Holy God and He cannot fellowship with darkness. He will not allow evil to remain in the Child of God for relational sake between His children and Himself, as it is written:

John 3:19-21

“This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of Light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and will not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the Light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

The Apostle Paul had taught that the battles that we all will face is many various types of sins and the sin nature, found in:

Romans 7:14-24.

“We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do (sin). and if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it but it is sin living in me. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sin nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do, this I keep doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work.: when I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law, but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members. What a wretched man that I am!”

But if we abide in Christ Jesus we can have the victory over all things, as the Apostle Paul concludes:

Romans 8:1.

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”

For it is the sin nature we will all battle till our dying day. And all sins knowingly wrong yet committed are the vital signs of Spiritual weakness. So how do we become strong against temptations and sins?

#1). Abiding in Christ Jesus. Reading His word on a constant basis, as it is written:

John 1:1-2 & 14.

The Word Became Flesh.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.”
and,

“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

#2). Prayer. The Lord Jesus taught:

Matthew 26:41

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”

#3). Going to a Holy Spirit filled, full Bible preaching and believing church. We do these things, simply, to be strengthened. We sin because:

#A). Ignorance of the Word of God.

 #B). The Flesh.

In order to sin you have to walk according to the flesh to sin. For sin is in the flesh and requires the flesh or self desire to sin. For even the Apostle Paul struggled with sin in Christ as we just read in Romans 7:14-24. And if anyone knows anything about the Apostle Paul, it is that he abided in Christ so powerfully yet he still fell short of the standards of God once in a while. He still struggled with sin and the desires there of. I’m not justifying sins, but we all fall short. We all struggle with different sins because of this sin nature.

How does sin work?

#1). Sin Seek’s opportunity and it deceives

Romans 7:11.

“For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death.”

#2). Sin separates man from God

Isaiah 59:1-3.

Separated from God.

“Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken lies, Your tongue has muttered perversity.”

And in the New Testament, Ephesians 4:17-19

Living as Children of Light.

So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.”

#4). Sin also and obviously Brings death.

Romans 6:23.

“For the wages of sin is death,”.
So in a nut shell, Sin does exactly this, in this order, found in:

James 1:13-15.

When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when by His own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then after desire has conceived, it give birth to sin; and sin, when sin is full-grown, gives birth to death.”

You see temptation starts at a thought, conceives, and then put into action. Therefore sin is sin by action which brings forth spiritual death. Just like the devil and Eve in Genesis 3. The devil asked Eve some questions, for her to ponder on, to take thought. So thought can then conceive into action and action, to spiritual death. And since sin separates us from God, that is why the Holy Word of God tells us explicitly to take no thought in:

Ephesians 2:1-3.

“As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, (the devil,) the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.”

And: 2 Corinthians 10:4&5.

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

How can a believer and follower of Jesus Christ be forgiven?

As a reminder: The only One who can save us all from the power of death through our sins is through Jesus the Christ, the Son of God.

Romans 7:24&25

“Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God-through Jesus Christ our Lord!”

For Christ Jesus was beaten and bruised. He bled and died for our sins, transgressions and iniquities. And rose from the dead on the 3rd day to give us everlasting life and everlasting hope. A way of escape from the judgment of Hell, the second death. No other has ever done that for all humanity, and no one ever will, not even a counterfeit. So the first step is to acknowledge that is Jesus Lord, your deliverer your provider, your savior for those who believe. The next step: Once that is established and acknowledged in your heart, is to be convinced that, what the Word of God promised you can have, YOU CAN HAVE IT! Being convince that God cannot lie. The third step is to confess, found in:

1 John 1:9

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to purify (,or cleanse,) us from all unrighteousness.”

For if you do not believe the Word of God, than this step is in fact in vain according to:

James 1:5-8

“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.”

And lastly turn away from adultery and other sins and turn to the Living God. He is the God of second, third, fourth 20th, 1000th chances or more. We will always Battle this flesh and the devil, through our whole entire lives. And the only way the devil through temptation, and/or our sinful nature have victory over us, is if we allow it to happen, take no evil, tempting thought. Put every thought down into obedience to Jesus the Christ , as a reminder again Found in:

2 Corinthians 10:5.

“and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

This takes a lot of endurance, discipline and training it is also written:

1 Corinthians 9:24-27.

“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. (That is Salvation.) And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”

Philippians 3:7-14.

But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Pressing Toward the Goal

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

So how can one be delivered from Adultery and all other sins?

Lots of prayer, seeking God’s delivering power. And denying the fleshes will. Also as it is written:

James 4:4-10.

“You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the Spirit He caused to live in us envies intensely? But He gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.”

For we now know through this study that there are 2 sources of sins:

#1). The Curse of the sin nature that we all have from birth, through Adam and Eves rebellion found in Genesis Chapter 3. Another words the fleshes will to sin. #2). The temptations of the devil.

For no one can sin without the sin nature nor the temptations of the devil. So in short when we do our part, God Almighty will do His and we will have the victory over all sins and death. As Jesse Duplantis had mentioned a time or two in his sermons, that one of his friends came to him and told him that he needs deliverance from adultery. Jesse told him, ” Tell your wife, and she’ll deliver you.” God Almighty, still LOVES you. The Lord Jesus still Loves you. The Holy Spirit still LOVES you. Though grieved, He still loves you unconditionally. as it is written:

Romans 8:34-40.

“Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, Who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:
“ For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

But if you persist in adultery or other types of sins that is detestable in the Lord God Almighty’s sight at any degree, than there is judgment that will come. Either in this life or in the eternal life to come. And you never know when the Lord will call your life into accountability. We are here today and gone tomorrow, and if you are not right with the Lord and He suddenly calls your life into accountability, than you will miss heaven. God bless you, your family and your friends.

thank you for the encouraging word.

I need deliverance from sexual sins.
I am married to a God fear woman. I am a father of three kids.
My problem is that I have been cheating on my wife.
I don’t know how to tell this and ask her to forgive me.

    • The first step toward deliverance is confession to Christ Jesus our Mediator. Then repentance, which means: to literally turn away from that sin sincerely. That includes breaking off relationships out-side of marriage, or getting rid of pornography of all types. Anything that would trigger sexual immorality in your life. And then prayer. Praying unto God our Father, through our Lord Jesus The Christ for guidance, for a perfect time, place and way to tell your wife. For telling your wife breaks that bondage of sin. And fear not. If your wife truly love you, than she would stick by you as the marriage vows goes: “For better or for worst richer or for poorer, sickness and in health, until death do us part.” And help her to understand that a man’s sexual drive is through the eyes and through what we hear that can trigger sexual immorality. And remember forgiveness may not be instant with your wife. It might take some time. But forgiveness from your wife is not for you, but for herself. Because as Christ Jesus Taught in Matthew 5:14&15 that unforgiveness will keep us from entering the kingdom of Heaven. You can miss Heaven completely because of unforgiveness. as Jesus say’s “But if you do not forgive, your Heavenly Father wil not forgive your sins.” And if our sins are not forgiven by God, Than we will miss heaven completely. And lasty: reading the Word of God like you have never done before. For that is the way to resist the devil and the temptations he brings as well as giving us the power to deny the flesh, our own desires. The Word of God strengthens us. Amen! I hope that helps you Bro. And I will also prayer for you as well. God bless you, your family and your friends. Steve

  2. Akhil Abraham says:

    Hello..!!
Can I please know how I can seek forgiveness..??
I am 15..and I watch porn and also masturbate. When I see a lady, I think about her lustfully. I always make promises with God that I wont do this…but I keep on breaking them.
Sir, is there any way so that my sins can be forgiven by God, also a promise that I make without breaking it after a week or so..?

Also, I wanted to know if love is a sin. I mean, if you have a girlfirend, or a crush, is it wrong…??

    • Lets start with your last question first. Love and a relationship in itself with the opposite sex is not a sin. But when the relationship progresses into sexual immorality (premarital sex) then it is sin. God’s Holy Word speaks this as fact in 1 Corinthians 6:9&10 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, (people who practice premarital sex of all kinds including oral sex. Sexually immorality falls under the category of masturbation as well) Nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers (people who slander one another), nor extortioners (swindlers) will not inherit the kingdom of God”

Now how to be forgiven by God. Commit your life full heartedly to God our Creator through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. Thus says God our Creator in: 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

James 1:9-2:2 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us our sin and to cleans us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we claim we have not sinned, we make Him (God) out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives. My dear Children, I write this to you so that you will not sin, But if anybody does sin, we have One who speaks to the Father in our defense-Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only ours but also the sin of the whole world.” For those who believe that is Jesus is Lord.

Repentance is to make up your mind to forsake sins and follow God and His holy standards of living. Once you done that then turn away from sin and walk the narrow road to eternal life. This narrow road is difficult. It’s not easy and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13&14 “Enter in by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and only a few who find it.” It’s difficult, but not impossible. Even Jesus told a prostitute “Go and sin no more.” found in: John 8:1-12. If it were impossible to go and sin no more then He would have not taught that. The key is: Matthew 16:24 “Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to come after Me (to follow the Lord Jesus), let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.”

This life of deliverance that you want can only be achieved through being born again by the Holy Spirit. To be alive to Christ and dead to sin and that is through the help of God’s Holy Spirit. And How can you be born again? By giving your heart and life to Jesus Christ, God’s Only Begotten Son, our Savior, Messiah, Baptizer and King. John 14:6 “Jesus said to Thomas, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father (Creator) except through Me.’” Another words, no on can know God our Creator except through Jesus Christ. No one can be baptized with God’s Holy Spirit without Jesus Christ. John 16:5-15. And without the Holy Spirit no one is born again and have the power to live this life Holy and pleasing to God. John 15:5 Jesus says, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

Please my friend, if you have any more questions then don’t hesitate to comment this or contact me @ jesus.is.lord316@hotmail.com

  3. Akhil Abraham says:

Thanks for your immediate reply Sir.
    Just one more question
When you have a girlfriend, is it wrong if we kiss..? I mean, is it a sin?

Also, there are some times when I feel helpless. At these times, I need to talk to someone. So, if there’s any way, could I talk to you? I mean like video chat on Facebook or Skype..??

    Thank you..!!

    • Kissing is not a sin. But it can be a snare or a trap that leads to sin. Kissing is a sacred loving thing we do. But take heed, it can lead to passion, and passion leads to sexual immorality. And sexual immorality leads to inner destruction, unhappiness etc. And the ultimate price of all on earth is, you will never have an intimate relationship with your future wife because of sexual immorality. Meaning you wont have that sacred spiritual intimate bond with your future wife. And can also damn our soul into eternity in hell. God’s will is for us to have life in Jesus Christ and have it more abundantly. To be truly happy with inner peace and contentment that can only be found in Jesus Christ our Messiah. And how can we reach that? By doing what God commands with the help of His Holy Spirit and the determination and desire to want to live according to His righteous standards:

2 Corinthians 6:17&18 “Come out from among them (the ways and pattern of this sinful, corrupt, fallen world of the devil) and be separate, says The Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says The Lord Almighty.”

All humanity has a dark void in our hearts. And we try to fill that dark void that we all sense by gratifying the cravings of our flesh with possession of this world. Money, drugs, sex, partying etc. but the reality is, that Lord Jesus is the only one who can and fill and fulfill that void. Because that place in our hearts was created by God our Creator/ Father for His Only Begotten Son to live in.

Now I would love to sit down with you on Skype or Facebook. So let me look into how we can connect via internet and i’ll get back to you. Because I don’t have a Skype account. But in the mean time, my church and I will pray for you and pray with you. Amen.

the question is…if a person guilty of adultery, divorces and remarries his/her new partner. Will they be living an adulterous relationship as long as they stay married. Do they have a chance for forgiveness and redemption? or when they repent from their sin of adultery, they are cleansed and can honor God with this new marriage and a true changed life?

    • The answer to the 1st question is yes, because that’s what the relationship is built upon, is based on. The way you meet, will continue to carry on in that relationship. The Word of God tells us this: Galatians 6:7-8 “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh, reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit reap ever lasting life.” which coincides to the “Golden Rule” which all humanity is bound by, by Gods authority whether we like it or not, found in: Obadiah :15 “For the day of the LORD upon all the nations is near; As you have done, it shall be done to you; your reprisal (rewards; blessing or curse) shall return upon your own head.”

The answer to the 2nd questions is: yes! God forgives and redeems anyone who changes their minds, turn full heartedly to God, denouncing (forsaking the sinful ways sincerely) and ask God for forgiveness. Lord Jesus says this: Matthew 16:24 “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” and in: James 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleans us from all unrighteousness.” God our Heavenly Father knows our hearts, He see’s all things and understands the motives of the heart, as He also judges the actions. He saw the end of each of our days of all humanity before we were conceived. He is Omniscient according to: Hebrews 4:13. Therefore He discerns between true repentance of the heart from lip service. And the Scripture of: 1 John 1:9 only applies to a true penitent heart. In that note He forgives all sins, except for 1. God will never forgive the blasphemy of His Holy Spirit.

And lastly, the answer to the 3rd question. God honors those who honors Him. If you heed the holy convictions of His Holy Spirit and do what He instructs, then you will do well for He cares for you. His ways works every time as we apply His Word to our lives daily. His ways are designed to bring Salvation, reconciliation with God, healing and inner peace when we are right with God which results in blessings, happiness and completeness.

Thank You for responding, it is brave of you for not many want to touch this subject in detail.
Our relationship started in adultery, and now we have been married for 20+ years, we have endured many trials and now have a good stable family, we all attend and actively serve in our church, and try to honor God in all we do. The only thing that remains is the fact of our beginning.
so to summarize your answer, is it safe to say that even thought we began in adultery, God can forgive us and receive honor in us while we remain married because of true repentance or because we began in adultery the only way to honor God would be to go apart in spite of what God has done and keeps doing in our lives and our family…I struggle with this deeply and as I go to Davids example, who had to endure consequences, but still was later blessed with Solomon…still she had become a widow, so was free to remarry…Ultimately I seek to do Gods will, but need to be sure of what that is before making yet another terrible mistake.

        • You are one of a few couple who stayed together, and yes God can forgive and honor in true repenteance. you have made me realize another side to the coin of truth, that God can work through, and work out our past mistakes just like He did with Abraham and Hagar as God wills in: Genesis 16. And as you referred to King David and Bathsheba, we see after that the price he had to pay for adultry, as God did judge him not only of adultry, but also his convetousness, lying to cover up his sin, murdering Uriah (bathsheba’s husband: Matthew 1:6) so uriah wouldn’t find out found in 2 Samual 11-24. So thank you for teaching me a thing or two. God Almighty is truly merciful.

I’m a little confused here. What you’re saying is that it’s okay for a man to committed adultery, leave his wife and divorce her, and marry his new partner? That God will forgive him while he is in the state of adultery? So when did sin become a blessing. You cannot repent of a sin while continuing to commit it. What you seem to be wanting is for God to accept him without repentance on his part. Repentance is the idea of turning away from sin. “For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. For observe this very thing that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter” (II Corinthians 7:10-11). I get the impression that he’s hoping that religion will change his sinful situation into something righteous without any alterations on his part.

        King David
Adultery is having sex with someone while you are in a covenant relationship with another person. David committed adultery with Bathsheba. Both of them were married to other people. Yet David did not marry Bathsheba until after her husband was dead. “When the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband. And when her mourning was over, David sent and brought her to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the LORD” (II Samuel 11:26-27). God didn’t like what David did because not only did David sin by committing adultery, he sought to hide it by having Uriah killed and then marrying his former wife. The marriage was not adulterous because of the death of Bathsheba’s husband. “For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man” (Romans 7:2-3). Notice that the woman remains an adulteress while remaining in a forbidden marriage. There are people who try to define the act of adultery as only being the wedding ceremony. That contention is false. You miss the point that forgiveness is based on a man’s repentance. “Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you” (Acts 8:22). You are attempting to claim that forgiveness can be gained without changing your life from sin — contrary to Ezekiel 18:21-23.

“I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables” (II Timothy 4:1-4).Claiming to be a Christian and living a Christian life are two different things. A claim alone will not save a person from his sins. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. … And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matthew 7:21, 23). In his case, he has been committing adultery with this woman. Marrying her will not end the adultery; it will continue it.

        • Cal says:

Ok , so I agree… Now the question is: is the sin of adultery in the act of sex or in the legal status of marriage.
After 25 years of marriage, our old spouses have also establihed their lives and formed new families of their own, so there really is no going back.
If for the the sake of redemption, we would live a sexless marriage, but yet do good to the family we have formed, would we be out of the sin of adultery?

          • Now this answer is to Cal If it is not well with your soul still, both you and your wife: Seek the Lord. Ask Him what you and your wife shall do. And God will reveal it to you according to John 10. He is no respecter of persons. It’s not impossible for the Lord Jesus Christ to speak to anyone who seeks Him. He see’s the heart and understand the motives. He also knows the minds of all His creation. There is nothing hidden in the sight of Him whom we must give an account (Hebrews 4:12-13). And when He reveals it, do it. That it may be well with your souls. If He says divorce. And never remarry and have a sexless life (according the law of works) it will be well with your souls, the both of you. And He will honor that by giving you the Holy Spirit to empower you to lives that way until death. Because it is not up to me or up to anyone else on earth. But it is ultimately up to the Sovereign Lord. He has the final say. Seek Him with all your heart.

Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Revelation 22:17 “And the Spirit and the bride says, “come!” And let him who thirsts “come!” Whoever (that’s all humanity by choice) desires, let him take the water of life freely.”

Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me (Lord Jesus says), all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

        • I can see your confusion. You are confusing the Doctrine of Sanctification with the Doctrine of Justification. Your argument is resting the Holy Doctrine of Sanctification, but you lack discerning, in this particular question from an anonymous person, which has to do with Justification. You cannot attempt sanctification until you are first justified and you cannot be justified by works, but through the power and mercy of God through faith in Jesus Christ called grace (which means unmerited favor). Sanctification is resting on works after being justified: repentance, keeping oneself spotless and blameless. Where Justification rests on faith in Jesus Christ. The two Doctrines embrace each other to the final result of Salvation = “Glorification” And that’s how the redemption plan of salvation through Jesus Christ works: Illumination- justification. From Justification-Sanctification. From Sanctification-Glorification, through the the relationship with God through Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

The beauty of the Gospel of justification from the Lord Jesus is as simple as Roman 10:1-13
“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. 5 For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” 6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down from above)7 or, “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

          Which coincides with John 3:16-18
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

There are three (if not four) groups of people in the world. 1). Those who know the Lord and do not sin. 2). Those who don’t know the Lord and sins freely in ignorance without care and never will accept Jesus Christ as Lord. 3). Those who did know the Lord but for some reason turned there back on the Lord (backslide). 4). Those who did not know the Lord, made there mistakes and after all that has been done in the past, eventually came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. God Says in the Doctrine of Justification those sins of the past are forgiven if one believes that Jesus is the Justifyer of our past sins and confession is made unto salvation (Romans 3-5). Again this is what is known as justification. What is Justification: ‘Being freed from blame or guilt; acquitted,’ referring to the past never acquitted in the future. We are justified through the Blood of Jesus Christ for those who believe and are of sincere heart to follow the Lord by Grace. This is the beginnings of salvation not the final conclusion. Repentance is the call to Sanctification which is turning away from sin and confession is made, and sins no more (1 John 3:7-9 & John 8:1-11 2 Chronicles 7:14).

But let me get this straight what you are implying here. That this anonymous person who most likely didn’t know the Lord nor His Word at the time of committing adultery who later on, in the 20 years of an adulterous marriage, came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ should then divorce (knowing that God hates divorce) is repentance? … Correct me if I am wrong but it sounds like what your saying then is that they sinned against the Word of God in ignorance, not knowing the righteous requirements of God standards of living at that time of the past (in adultery). Therefore they cannot be saved until they sin by getting divorced??? That’s based on works only and not by faith in the power of God. which again no one can be Justified through works. But the child of God who knows better, but deliberately sins against the Lord and continues, knowing God’s standards of living will lose salvation because they refuse to live in Holiness through power of the Holy Spirit in Christ Hebrews 10:26-31. And to the backslider Hebrews 6:4-6.

          • Anonymous says:

When Jesus gave the command in Matthew 19 He was talking to the Pharisees, men whom he called “hypocrites,” “blind leaders of the blind” and children of the devil. To these men Jesus said “Whosoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery” (Matt. 19:9). The word “whosoever” covers all men, Christians and non-Christians alike.

Since God is the one who joins a couple together in marriage, He is the only one who can release them from the contract. It is possible for a couple to be married by the laws of the land, but not joined together by God. This is the case in Mark 6:17,18. In this passage John the Baptist told Herod “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” Herod was married according to civil law, but John said the marriage was not “lawful.” The woman in Romans 7:2, 3 was still bound by God to her first husband as long as he lived, even though she might be married to another man!

Yes, the blood of Christ will remit all our sins as we are buried with him in baptism (Rom. 6:1-4; 1 Pet. 3:21), but prior to baptism I must repent of my sins (Acts 2:38). If I am living in adultery, repentance demands I put away my unscriptural mate!

In John 8 we find the account of the woman who was caught in the very act of adultery. There can be no question our Lord forgave her. But what did Jesus mean when He said “go and sin no more?” Could she go back to the man she was sleeping with? I believe the Lord forgave her, but also warned her not to commit this sin any more.

Would God want us to break up our happy home? In the days of Ezra many men had married pagan women from the surrounding nations. God had prohibited them from marrying women from any one of the seven nations listed in Deut. 7:1-5. When the men of Israel realized their sin and came to repentance, Ezra said, “You have transgressed and have taken pagan wives, adding to the guilt of Israel. Now therefore, make confession to the Lord God of your fathers, and do His will; separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the pagan wives” (Ezra 10:10,11).

            • Lets start there first in Matthew 19, If any one has ears to hear…let them understand of why the Lord Jesus says what He says. The Pharisee’s were twisting and perverting the law, looking for loop-holes, technicalities to justify their own sins also to trap Him. They asked the Lord about divorce. ‘Can they divorce for any old reason?’ Jesus gave them only 2 biblical grounds for divorce. The Pharisee’s were divorcing their wives because they were simply unhappy. Or they were hiring hit men to murder their wives so they can remarry and not be subject to the law (for they were sons of hell and teaching converts to be worse than they as the Lord Jesus judged them in Matthew 23). Those were the type of days the Lord Jesus was born into. As king Solomon said “there is nothing new under the sun.” What is happening today, was happening then also. That’s why He called that generation a perversed and wicked generation. He was talking to the Pharisee’s, which explains why He judged the Pharisee’s severely in Matthew 23 pointing out what they were doing. Why? Because they knew better, they knew the Word of God which was the Old Testament. That’s where the saying came from: “do as I say, but not as I do” because of the Pharisee’s.

That brings me to another point, you claim in your first reply that murder nullifies a marriage covenant and your example was King David. But it doesn’t. If murder nullified a marriage covenant, than why is Bathsheba considered to be Uriah’s wife still today in the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 1:6. But King David went ahead and married Bathsheba anyway in spite of the law since murder does not nullify a marriage covenant at all… period. For that is a Phariseeic loop-whole. Thus he would be quilty of continuing in adultry according to you. What Justified King David? What made their “adulterous” marriage clean. Was it the blood that was shed in judgment against David’s house-hold because of his sins? Was it the Sacrificial Law that appointed priests to practice at least once a year on behalf of all the sins of Israel? Yes! Because God declared Him righteous before and after his sins were committed. Does that not sound like the type and shadow of the Doctrine of Justification? What was the difference between king David’s marriage and this one’s couples marriage today?

Now lets get a better understanding of the situation here that you are so stuck on. 25 years ago before the couple knew about the Lord and salvation. This couple had an adulterous affair. Divorced their original spouses and married each other and had kids. Years later they may have met the Lord (that is still uncertain) and in the mean time their original ex-spouses remarried. Now the Lord Jesus justified divorce on 2 grounds. 1). Hardness of heart toward one another through Moses. 2) Sexual immorality (adultery). Therefore their original ex-spouses are freed since their spouses committed adultery. But the ones who committed adultery cannot go back to their original spouses because of remarriage of all parties as did also their original spouses having kids with their marriages. Therefore the question now is: “do they stay together with sexless marriage or divorce and never remarry in order to be saved? because they cannot go back to the original marriage. The key here is: were they Christians before the committing of adultery or not! According to their testimony they were not. That’s makes a big difference.

Again, Romans 3-5 says that their marriage is clean through the blood of Jesus Christ. As God justified the marriage between King David and Bathsheba, (The Doctrine of Justification). Take a more closer look at key words in these Scriptures such as:

*Romans 3:24 Grace: Free gift of unmerited favor (Romans 5:15&16).
*Romans 3:24 Redemption: To deliver from sin; to make amends or atone; to restore (oneself) to favor.
*Romans 3:25: Propitiation: To win the good will of; appease. Appease the wrath of God through the blood of Jesus Christ.
*Romans 3:28; 5:1 Justification: To free from blame or guilt.
*Hebrews 9:16-28 Remission: Forgive; pardon; release from debt.
(What does pardon mean? Pardon: To release from further punishment; to forgive (an offense); to excuse (a person) for a fault; Legal documentation to pardon (which the Word of God is legal documentation that God can have mercy whom He will have mercy as the Word of God says: Romans 9:13-32. Which is referencing Exodus 33:19. According to the definition, it simply means that a judge see’s the guilty and does not deny that a person is guilty of the said crime(s). But the judge decided to pardon, acquit; not impute the penalty of the law upon the guilty of their past crime(s)).

You put it all together, as you read carefully the Scriptures of Romans Chapters 3-5 &10, you then see clearly that He justified sinners and heathen to be right with God the Father through the blood of Jesus Christ. Thus He charged all sins to His Only Begotten Son. Jesus Christ paid the debt of those who believe through faith by the grace and mercy of God through the shedding of His blood (in which no one person on the face of the whole entire earth from Adam to the last person at the end of the age deserves. But He is willing to wipe the slate clean, to give a fresh new start. Therefore He did not spare His own Son on our behalf. And that demonstrates His complete, perfect love and mercy for all (John 3:16-18)

He made it easy to receive salvation, The challenge is how to stay saved by walking with God like Enoch had walk with God and sin no more literally, period. That is exactly what the Lord Jesus means and it is not impossible to go and sin no more through power of the Holy Spirit. It takes the flesh to sin, but if you keep the flesh under subjection by the authority of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit, it is easy to go and sin no more as the Lord Jesus commanded in: John 8:11. Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation (judgment) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who walks not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” That is one of many Hebrew definitions of repentance.

Now God charged our past sins to His Son, and credits righteousness of Jesus Christ to the believer. He exchanged His life for death and gave us His life while He took our death from sins upon Himself. Which gives us the snapshot of the law of the Scapegoat (Leviticus 16:20-22) The laying of the hands on the scapegoat is the physical symbol of transferal of sins; transgressions and iniquities onto the scapegoat. And is that not what God the Father had done to His Son in the garden of Gethsemane “which means in Hebrew: “Olive press” on behalf of sinners and heathens both Jew and Gentile. The weight of all sins, transgressions and iniquities were on the literal shoulders Of Jesus Christ called the cross from that time forward.

Therefore this couple are pardoned freely by God’s mercy as long as the conditions are met, and that is: Romans 10:9-12 “that if you confess the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead you will be saved (the word “will” means; it’s definite. It will happen as long as these conditions are met). For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, ’Whosoever (that is all humanity) believes on Him will not be put to shame” for there is no distinction between Jew and Greek (Gentiles), for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For whoever (that’s all humanity by their own choice) calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

This is the beginning of salvation. Further more godly sorrow is not the only means God uses for repentance. The Scripture also says: Romans 2:4 “that the goodness of God leads you to repentance.” And The God of Abraham (Avraham); Isaac (Yitzchak) and Jacob (Ya’akov) has demonstrated His goodness as displayed through His Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ (Yeshua Messiah) Testified through His Holy Spirit (Ruach Ha Kodesh) and He cannot lie. But now on the other side of the spectrum the Holy Spirit refutes the notion through the apostle Paul (paraphrasing) Romans 6-8 ‘since now we are justified through faith in Jesus Christ, can we live like the devil and expect the right into Heaven “CERTAINLY NOT!”

“Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced from her husband commits adultery” (Luke 16:18).

“But I say to you that whoever divorces his wife for any reason except sexual immorality causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries a woman who is divorced commits adultery” (Matthew 5:32).

“And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery” (Matthew 19:9).

30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, 31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead. Acts 17:30-31

So basically what you’re saying is that if a man marries and another man and get Baptist then its justified and God will forgive him and the marriage is acceptable in God’s eyes? If a man marries multiple women and gets Baptist then he can keep his life style and keep all of his wife’s because he was justified through the blood of Jesus? Or a theft can steal get Baptist and continue to steal? Or can we say, “Let’s do evil so that good will comes from it”? Some slander us and claim that this is what we say. They are condemned, and that’s what they deserve”~ Romans 3:8.

“So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts. But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (II Peter 1:19-21).

                • Read carefully the last reply because it is evident that you only read half and not all.

                  • One more thing I promise. Your lack of understanding is evident. Now I do not say that to demean you in any way, I say this with all gentleness in truth. Please hear this out in order for you to add this to your understanding: The apostle Paul was a pharisee. He came from a family line of pharisees (Acts 23:6). When Jesus Christ revealed Himself alive literally since His bodily resurrection, unto the apostle Paul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9). He was middle aged. So all his life, He was a thoroughly trained Pharisee. The apostle Paul boasted greatly how affluent he was in all the Law. In fact he concluded that he was perfect (blameless) through the Law (Philippians 3:3-6)

That was, until the Lord Jesus Christ showed him he was still under sin until Justified. This is why he takes us all step by step throught he Book of Romans in this very argument: That’s why he says, using the Law, all are guilty of sin, and that no flesh can be justified through the Law (Romans 1-3). Because, through ignorance then and still today, people all over the world still believes: ‘There is no sin, therefore I don’t need God!’ The world also believes there is many ways into heaven. And they can live like the devil and enter heaven regaurdless. But on the contrary the Word of God says otherwise. And that is the point of the Law, to point out to all humanity that we are all guilty of sin by our sin nature that we are all born into through Adam and Eve

Then he takes us further: once we are convinced that we are sinners (Illumination), we can be justified through the blood of Jesus Christ through faith by grace (Romans 3-5 Justification). Now after we are justified (both Jews and Gentiles) in order to continue in this salvation in Jesus Christ, we must live a sanctified life in Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6-11 Sanctification). and lastly Romans 12-16 teaches how to conduct ourself in a manner worthy of the Gospel. How to stay saved in order to enter the kingdom of Heaven (Glorification) in this very order.

He makes these arguments using the law, which I also showed the proof for what I believe and why I believe it…IT IS WRITTEN! Showing you how you are missing the whole picture. This is the complete and perfect Gospel of Jesus Christ! This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the Jews! Or do you call God and the apostle Paul a liar? Are you better than they? Has God died and made you and only you judge?

Don’t you see that Jesus Christ is the better way. He is better than the Law. He is Greater than Abraham and Moses (according to whole Book of Hebrews and according to John 8:31-58) He is the only way (John 14:6). So what part of this kindergarten Christianity do you not understand? Unless of course your a Jehovah Witness, than I can understand the disconnect here. They preach a Christ-less half gospel message, which is no gospel at all. in fact a gospel they do preach is through the law of works and rejects completely the doctrine of Justification through the blood of Jesus Christ. They also add that if you spend enough time going door to door in your life-time, you might enter the kingdom of Heaven. But if you are a business owner and you pay into a certain amount of money to the organization, then you are guaranteed a spot among the 144,000 they believe will only be saved from Adam to the end of the world. It’s all based on Works. But the real Gospel of Jesus Christ proves otherwise.

Half truth is a still a lie! Any politicians would admit to that. Full truth is absolute truth! As the Lord Jesus promised to all born again believers and followers of Jesus Christ, not to the world and not to religious people or religious organizations, but His children only (John 14:15-18 & John 16:5-15)

You truly showed me this one truth: (1 Corinthians 1:18-31). The cross of Jesus Christ is foolishness to those who are perishing. The evidence of illumination, justification, sanctifcation to Glorification, are all strewn through the law and Prophets, pointing the way to the Cross of Jesus Christ. The cross is more than just an alter of repentance. It is the very place where we are Justified as the Lord Jesus Christ proclaims and all the world heard it (Since back then, all the known world were there in Jerusalem (Acts 2) and witnessed the King of the Jews on that cross for all Humanities sins… He cried out “IT IS FINISHED!” The cross is where the born again child of the Most High God starts their journey to walk upright in holiness as Enoch had walked with Almighty God. The Very Gospel that has power to cleanse, deliver and to set you free is the very Gospel that is a curse to you! IT IS WRITTEN through the Holy Spirit by the apostle Paul:

Galatians 1:6-9 “I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.”

last point. How about another example of Justification. The thief on the cross. The Holy Bible tells us that he is a thief, God only knows what else he was. He could have been an adulterer or a murderer, but does this matter? No. Why? Because the Holy Spirit says through (James 2:10-13) if you break one of these commandments, you have broken them all” So now we can say not only was he a thief, but also, a liar, a murderer, an adulterer who covets evil and hated God according to the judgments of the Law. Isn’t that the world we live in today? Nothing new under the sun.

Yet all that the thief could say is: (paraphrasing in Luke 23:26-43) “I’m sorry Lord…””Remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” (That is another Hebrew word for repentance, The Hebrew word for: “made sorry” is: Nacham (Naw-kham) And Lord Jesus told him “you will be with me in paradise.” What did that sinner do to be pardoned from all his sins? He believed that Jesus is the Savior of the world. And that He has the power to forgive (pardon all sins of all sinners and heathens). This is the classic “death bed confession” scene. Jesus Christ will still save sinners, heathens and the religious in their death beds, if God does not suddenly call their life into an account. Remember this…

If you do not come to your senses, and if the Lord is merciful enough to you, to lay you down on your death bed someday and give you an opportunity to confess your sins and believe Jesus Christ has the power to pardon your sins since confession is made unto salvation (Romans 3). He will have mercy on your soul also, and welcome you into glory with Him. And then I will shake your hand in glory, thanking you that you made a me a better preacher of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, Glory to God. It is written: The just shall live by faith (Romans 3)! WHAT CAN WASH AWAY MY SINS? NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS!

From such withdraw yourself” (I Timothy 6:3-5). You aren’t speaking the truth you told this man that he was forgiven for his sin. While he continued to be in sin without any repentance, so you called John the Baptist a liar for rebuking Herod. SMH Wish you well.

    Hello,

I found this site from Google after I’d recently been trying to get close to God after being convicted of my sin. I didn’t engage in sex with a married man, but there was an inappropriate relationship that I had with one (for which I know I will always have trouble forgiving myself), but I wondered if that meant that I was an adulteress and therefore shouldn’t marry anyone or pursue a relationship with anyone. I am unmarried myself and don’t want to commit further sins against God because I’ve been convicted of my past transgressions. I also don’t want to drag anyone down that is a firm believer in Jesus Christ and His mercy.

    Thank you.
    Pray for me.

    • I’m not sure how you would define “inappropriate relations” since definitions varies based on different peoples views. If you define it as flirting, it is not sin but it is dangerous territory for the child of God to enter because it can lead to adultery (for the married) and sexual immorality (for non-married), just like kissing and so-forth. If you define it as oral sex, than adultery has been committed (for the married) because this act falls under extra marital affairs. And sexual immorality has been committed (for the non-married) because this falls under fornication. Even though this culture we live among does not view oral sex as sex therefore it is not sin, but it is. Therefore lets break down all that the Bible teaches us about this area of sins

*Adultery: The Lord Jesus teaches us that adultery is not only the act, but is also looking at someone sexually or fantasizing about another person sexually while being married is adultery (Matthew 5:27-30) Examples: extra marital affairs, orgies, wife swapping (swingin).

*Fornication: is having premarital sex with another person. Examples: homosexuality, oral sex, orgies, etc. (1 Corinthians 6:9&10)

*Sexual immorality (uncleaness): masturbation; pornography (for the unmarried, etc. (Galatians 5:19-25)

Furthermore, turning away (fleeing) from all these sins is true repentance. Therefore, God will forgive you and cleans you from all unrighteousness. (1John 1:9) But the opposite is also true, If you just ask for forgiveness without turning away from sins God will not forgive, in fact He will not listen to an impenitent person (2 Chronicles 7:14).

In God our Father’s salvation plan for all humanity is to come to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, repent and live life pleasing to God. This is known as: Sanctification” (2 Corinthians 6:17&18). Also Refer to: “Just Like In The Days Of The Book Of Acts” study. Because His children are bought with a price, paid by the blood of Jesus Christ (the Only Begotten Son of the Father, the Sacrificial Lamb, our Savior). So then we are not our own but the property of the Lord Jesus Christ. Even this body is not our own, but the temple of the Living God The Holy Spirit, the very heart and soul of Holy God Almighty our Heavenly Father. (1 Corinthians 6:15-20).

Therefore we are called to fear the Lord (Keep His commands) (Job 28:28 / Proverbs 8:13). To honor the Lord, to walk according to His ways (Psalm 25:4&5) and to Flee from evil, flee from sins of all types and shadows. In short: to not only be hearers of Gods Word and convictions but doers of the Word of God also (James 1:21-27).

So how do we start the process of cleansing, the call to sanctification? Renewing your mind daily (Romans 12:1-3) which is reading Gods Word daily (Galatians 5:25&26) Set you mind on things above, the Holy Word of God, and on Christ Jesus (Colossians 3:1-7) And by doing so, He will bless you both physically and spiritually giving you strength to over come all sins and temptations through His Holy Spirit. I’m sure this is more than what you have asked about but I speak what the Holy Spirit gives me to speak. I hope this does answer you questions and I will pray with you. God bless you, your family and you friends.

  6. Mary says:

i m married woman, but had adultery while i know it is sin. but want to repent and start good life with my husband. i can’t tell it to my husband because of fear that by knowing this he may leave me. will god forgive my sin? what i have to do for it. n shall i have to repent it in front of my husband.

    • The answer to your question is YES God can forgive your sins.

      Ezekiel 33:11

“Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord God (God is still saying), ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live.”

He can and will forgive all sins if you ask Him with right motives. And the right motives is to want to re-establish a relationship with Him that He so desires us to have. He did’t just die to save us from Hell. He saved us for the “remission of sins.” to reconcile us back to God our Creator, to have a real relationship with Him. The Lord Jesus emphasized, in order to enter the Kingdom of heaven you must be born again through the baptism of the Holy Spirit (John 3:3-5) and after that to continue to walk in and with the Lord Jesus Christ to a have living, faithful relationship with Him:

      Matthew 7:21-23

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

He also came to give us the Holy Spirit to live in us (John 14:15-17) in order to be raised from the dead (spiritually) and completely be dead to sin and alive in Jesus Christ:

      1 John 3:6;9

V:6 “Whoever abides in Him (the Lord Jesus Christ John 15:1-10) does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.”

V:9 “Whoever has been born of God (through the Holy Spirit) does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.”

And The Lord emphasis this because we are powerless within our selves. But if the Holy Spirit lives in us, He empowers us to walk and live like Lord Jesus walks as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God our Father. So therefore, the requirements to have all this is:

Repentance, meaning to turn, run away from all filthy worldly abominable sins of all type and shadows completely. For the real evidence of the Holy Spirit living in a born again Christian is to hate all sins in our own walk with the Lord Jesus Christ as He has walked.

      2 Chronicles 7:14

“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

      2 Corinthians 6:17-18

“Therefore “Come out from among the them (sinners) And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.”

      Confession:

      1 John 1:9

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Re-dedicate: Your life back to Jesus Christ and be faithful to Him all the days of life He blesses you with.

      Luke 9:23-26

“Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.”

Ask: God our Father through the Lord Jesus Christ for the baptism of the Holy Spirit:

      Luke 11:13

“how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

Our relationship the Lord Jesus Christ calls us to is a marriage covenant between us and God. So there is a difference between believers, and believer’s and follows of Jesus Christ. The difference is knowing God vs. knowing about God.

Follow: the call of Sanctification: God’s call for us to holy living:

      Matthew 7:13&14

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

The Lord Jesus is the gate (John 10:1-10). Your first step after after this is a continual living , active walk in Jesus Christ and that starts with reading the Holy Bible faithfully, daily. This is how we get to know God personally as we also experience His physical presence and empowered anointing. Pray: talk to Him faithfully as like 2 people talk to each other. And Go to a holiness, Word Of God preaching, Holy Spirit filled Living and active Church faithfully. For this is how we get strong in the Lord and stay saved.

  7. stephanie says:

i have been married for almost 3 years now and have dated my husband for 10 years . in the begining it was very nice and then i had no choice but to marry him knowing he was a selfish person who only thought of himself we both work but i run the house and pay bills he thinks of his friends and partying my life is so upside down i have no fun im always sick sad n depressed i met a younger guy who gives me all the love and attention i need he fills my life up so much but im an adultress i found someone to care and love me. this guy has brought me closer to god and makes a diff in my life the only problem is im married and i want a divorce how would god forgive me. help me i need to be with the guy i have fallen inlove with or ill jus end up a bitter old women.

    • This really concerns me deeply as does the Lord. First of all I really question whether the guy you fell in love with is truly a born again Christian. Because if He knows that you are married and he truly has a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and not only believes in holiness as God’s Word teaches but also lives it, he would not allow this relationship to continue as you are still married. The Word of God tells us:

      James 1:13-16

“ Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires (of the flesh) and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.”

God does not tempt us with evil. He will not entice us to sin against him in order to get us closer to Jesus Christ.

Now hear the Lord’s heart, “God’s will is to stay in marriage. Get right with God, seek Him. Read His Word. Let the Lord Jesus Christ be your husband to fulfill what your earthly husband lacks. Ask the Lord to give you the baptism of the Holy Spirit and start praying specifically what you want in your husband, pray foryour husband in the Holy Spirit. And when His anointing comes upon you, lay your hands on your husbands pillow, pray as he is out with his friends. And as you do this, watch the power of God move. Keep praying until God changes your husband, saves him and baptizes him with His Holy Spirit as well.” Because the Lord Jesus Christ performs miracles, He is God and nothing is impossible to Him, and that is His ways. Again, He doesn’t use adultery get you closer to Jesus Christ. 2 wrongs do not make a right way. All this can start with you having a personal relationship with God. And the Lord Jesus Christ can forgive you of adultery if you get right with Him, turn to Jesus Christ and turn away from the sins of adultery. And as you Pray, pray with faith. Because prayer without faith in Jesus Christ is powerless. What is faith?

      Hebrews 11:1

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Substance of things hope for: you hope that your husband would see the light, mature etc. Make you more important than his friends and paying attention to you, to love you and get a revelation of what marriage is, and what it is not. That’s what you hope for right? But yet you do not see all that, come close to happening in a life-time, But deep down in your heart of hearts you believe that what you hope for and ask the Lord, will come to pass without a shadow of doubt …that’s what faith is. You have to apply those principles as you pray. But again all this start with you getting right with with the Lord Jesus Christ:

      Matthew 6:33

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Jesus Christ knows all the inward cries of your heart. He understands and knows your vulnerabilities (Hebrews 4:14-16). HUSBAND’s pay attention to this: When a wife lacks her husbands attention, she will be vulnerable, and that’s where satan get his foothold into the marriage (Genesis 3). If any of you have ears to hear, let him hear what the Holy Sprit is saying. Stephenie, the Lord Jesus Christ hates sins and truly loves you and wants to draw you close in Him. Let Him in…. if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

  8. annoymous says:

I am a Christian woman and married now for 6 years. I love my husband, but over the past few months have started an extra-marital affair with my boss whom ive known for 5 years. at first it was harmless flirtation and I resisted him because I know it’s wrong and I knew where it would lead to. but I gave in. we haven’t slept together, just kissed and touched. I feel awful! I always go home and say to myself that I will put a stop to it and then start all over again the next day. I know the scriptures and know that what im doing is so very wrong. please help me.

    • As you know, your in a very dangerous territory spiritually and as a born again child of God. As a reminder you have the power through the Holy Spirit to run away from sins and to stand against all temptations of the flesh and the devil. I sense that the Lord is warning you through convictions and reminding you of the Scriptures of the truth to turn away from this dangerous territory where the devil want you to be in. Because he knows if you stay long enough you will fall. And that’s what he wants, to drag every Christians away from God if he can. And he can, IF, we allow him to. satan knows that sin separates us from having a close relationship with God. he knows that sins severs our communion, our communication line with God. he knows sin will ship wreck our faith in Jesus Christ if we persist and continue in sin and if that happens we will lose our salvation because it takes faith to saved. Do you see clearly his way and process? As the saying goes:

‘Sins will take you further down that road than you ever wanted to go,
Keeps you longer than you ever wanted to stay,
And makes you pay a price you cannot afford.’

The price is a shipwrecked family. Possible destruction of salvation if you continue down this path (Hebrews 10:26-31). satan looks for opportunity to gain a foot-hold in our lives when our guard is down spiritually or when we are weak spiritually, or he will also wear down the child of God in order for us to give in to his works of temptations. But you have to make up your mind now who you will follow and serve. satan or God our Father through the blood of Jesus Christ, empowered by His Holy Spirit? If you choose to follow God our Father, than the Word of God tells us lay down all sins completely (Genesis 35:2/Phillipians 2:12/Revelation 22:14) and to stand firm in the Word of God in power of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 6:10-18). Because we war against the temptations of satan and also against our own desire of the flesh (James 1:14-15).

BUT HERE IS YOUR ENCOURAGEMENT IN THE LORD. In order to subdue both the flesh and the devil, is to abide in Jesus Christ (John 15:1-11 & Psalm 91:1). Abiding is simply: reading the Word of God daily, faithfully. Making a decision daily to worship the Lord by walking in obedience to His Word, walking right with the Lord having this close relationship with Him without compromise, as He desires us to have with Jesus Christ. Prayer (Matthew 26:40). And going to a Holy Spirit filled, Bible Preaching, holiness church faithfully. This is what keeps us strong in Christ and against satan and all His ways and works. With all that, put on the full armor of God. (Ephesians 6:10-18)

The Helmet of salvation: protects our mind from thinking about sin. This is where temptations begins, the thought process. The Breastplate of Righteousness: protects our heart from conceiving sins. Shodding our feet with the Gospel of peace: protect our walk from compromise and sinning against the Lord. With all the armor of God in short, protects us from temptation getting into our minds, conceived into our hearts which the then gives birth to actions = sins, separation from God, ship-wrecked faith, lose of salvation, and then ultimately eternal hell fire and damnation.

If you are truly dead to sin and alive in Jesus Christ meaning, you are born again, decide to live holy and right with God and are walking not after the flesh but according to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit, than you have the power and authority to stand against satan and all his works coupled with the armor of God (Luke 11:18&19). Because this is what the baptism of the Holy Spirit was given to us for, so He can live in us (John 14:15-18) and be our helper (John 16:7-16) to empower us to walk holy and righteously in the fear of the Lord according to God’s Holy and righteous standards through His Word. And to empower us to stand against satan with the authority of Jesus Christ against all his works and ways by simply saying “NO!” to sins and “Yes” to Jesus Christ with all your hearts with all your strength, with all your might and with all your soul. And you can do this with the Lord. We can do nothing without Him (John 15:5). Heed The Lord, go His way and stay on that path of righteousness (Matthew 7:13&14). And I guarantee, you will be glad you did and happiness will abound greatly in your life completely in the Lord. In the mean time I will pray with you. God bless you Sister. The Lord Jesus Christ Loves you so much.

      • annoymous says:

Thank you so much for these words. It has given me hope and courage to be brave and stand true in the Lord. I know now that im not completely lost, and that Jesus my Father still has me in his sights… please uphold me in prayer. God bless.

        • Praise the Lord! That’s what this ministry is about. We all need to be reminded: ‘apart from Jesus Christ and being born again, no one can be saved (John 3). Apart from God’s Holy Word and the power of the Holy Spirit, no one can stay saved. (Romans chapters 3-8). Also it’s a sure thing that if you are being convicted and reminded by God that what your doing is wrong and need to turn from those wrong not just intellectually, but also spiritually, it’s a sure thing that you are His child (Hebrews 12:3-11). It’s when convictions, chastisements no longer occur while still in a sin the Lord has been dealing with. it’s a sure bet that He delivered us over to that sins and that’s the danger zone (Romans 1:18-32). I will also pray with you.

          • Mike says:

I MEET A LADY AND SHE’S SEPARATED NOT YET DIVORCE ON PROCESS AND SHE TELL ME SHE’S NOT YET DIVORCE AFTER A SEX AND HAVE BEEN FEELING GUILTY I HAVE COMMITTED ADULTERY AND I AM READY TO GIVE UP THAT RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE I CANT STOP HATING MYSELF…ALTHOUGH I HAVE KNOW HER FOR LONG AND SHE TELL ME SHE’S SINGLE BUT AT THIS MOMENT I CANT EVEN REMEMBER EXACTLY WHEN SHE TELL ME SHE’S HAS NOT DIVORCE YET BUT SHE’S HAS BEEN SEPARATED FOR 8 MONTH

            • Oh the sins of Eve (Deception). Run away! Turn to the Living God! Give your heart and life to Jesus Christ our Lord completely. Confess your sins (1 John 1:9) and follow the Word of God. Seek the Lord for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Stay on the narrow path of righteousness (Matthew 7:13&14) and God will bless you, supplying all your needs according to His riches and glory in holiness. Even will supply you a godly wife that has designed for you. Honor the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart, with all your strength, with all your mind, and with all your soul and He will honor you. 1 Peter 5:6&7 “Therefore humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, Casting all your care upon the Lord for He cares for you!”

              • Brother Jack says:

Hi There. Im a spirit filled Christian & love God dearly but have recently committed adultery. I was caught out by lust. As soon as the act of adultery had finished I had so much guilt, remorse & anger at my fleshly weakness for even considering to commit the act. I really fear that God will not forgive me for this sin as I should know better because I have the spirit dwelling within me & have been in Christ for a while. Is it possible for me to get total forgiveness from God for what I have done. I know the Lord says without spot or blemish………so I worry now that I am marked forever because of what Ive done & so will end up in the lake of fire. All I want to do from this very moment on is to praise our wonderful saviour as this has taught me a hard lesson. I really fear God & am so scared of the possible outcome of my stupid fleshly actions. I need reassurance that I can continue on in the Lord without God hanging this on my head because I haven’t addressed it the way God commands. Does he forgive Adultery & what is the process. I have totally confessed this to the lord in prayer but do you have to confess this to the church or church leaders as I fear if I don’t that that may be going against the will of God also. Will I be sinning if I don’t confess this to my wife. Thanks

                • The answer is yes the Lord can and will forgive you, even as you know better.

1 John 2:1-2 “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.  And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.”

Hebrews 4:14-16 “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.  For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.  Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

BUT…there is a price for sin and discipline is part of the price( Hebrews 12:4-12). All sins will be exposed as it is part of another price if not dealt with (John 3:19-20). God our heavenly Father knows the heart whether we are sincere in repentance meaning to literally: Change our minds, run away from all types and shadows of sins, put down those sins that easily snares us and run back to God our Father through the Lord Jesus Christ, empowered by God the Holy Spirit or not. And the reason for God exposing of sins, is to deliver us from those sins. Jesus Christ warned us (His disciples):

John 8:34-36 “Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.  And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

But God our Father will not listen to confessions unless your intention is to change your mind, condemn sin in the flesh and run back to God (real repentance)

2 Chronicles 7:14 “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

His appearance is near soon enough. He will Take His glorious church out of this earth before the tribulation period comes when He will judge all Humanity for sins and rejection (Matthew 24:29-31). And He want’s His true church to be ready for that day (Mark 13) Because those who are not ready, or those who reject Jesus Christ or those who reject and denounce holy living as God commanded us to live by His standards or those who do not desire God will not go:

Matthew 24:36-51 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.  For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left.  Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.  But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?  Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.  Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods.  But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

I say this with great weeping and tears for this “church age” in America today:  In this day and hour God is not playing games and we shouldn’t be either. We don’t know the day or hour when The Lord Jesus will come or to suddenly call our life to account (Luke 12:16-21/Hebrews 4:11-13). But He is calling us to live ready always and to finish our race in Jesus Christ strongly and gloriously in Him. The Lord has been so gracious, more than we deserve and He has revealed to His children what must we do as children of God to stay strong in the Him and stay strong against all oppositions, temptations and sins. How do we do this/ The first steps are:

*Read and study the Word of God daily/abiding in Jesus Christ: The Lord Jesus Christ is the Word manifested in flesh (John 1:1-14 & John 15:1-5)

Psalm 119:11 “Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.”

Children of God are only washed in the blood of Jesus Christ once. But it will take many washings from the Word of God in order to get those deep stains of sin out of our lives completely (Ephesians 5:25-27)

*Pray daily: To have communion/fellowship with God (Matthew 26:41). Also fasting is a great way to learn how to deny the flesh, pick up our cross and follow the Lord. The physical is more connected to the spiritual than we think. Why do you think Jesus Christ used earthly examples to explain the holy spiritual realm??? (John 3)

*Faithful in going to a Full Gospel, Holy Spirit filled, holiness church (Hebrews 10:19-25)

Then adding wisdom and understanding to our experiences. We must understand how sin works so we can recognize and be ahead of the curve to kill those desires contrary God (1 John 2-3:3)  All sins come from 2 sources:

                  1). Desires of the flesh

                  > (Genesis 3)

                  2). Temptations of satan

James 1:12-15 “Blessed (inner completeness; happiness; complete joy in the Lord) is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.  But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.  Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.”

Temptation is not sin. It’s the yielding to temptations is sin. When we think on, meditate on sin, it conceives into our heart and will give birth to action which brings forth spiritual death. But the way of escape of all temptations is setting your mind not on the thing of this earth, the lusts, the pleasures of this sinful fallen world, but keeping your eyes on Jesus Christ. (Colossians 3:1-10) Take no thought of sinful lusts of the flesh because that is where the battle begins, the mind (Romans 8 especially 8:3-8). If we walk according to the Holy Spirit than we will not allow the flesh to be gratified by it’s desire to sin against God (Galatians 5:16-17). Sin requires the flesh and if we learn to live in the guidance and in the Spirit of God, than we will not sin against God. That’s why we must do what this Word says in order to walk in the Spirit and we will not gratify the desires of the flesh. But again, here is the Warning to all “children of God” if we continue to sin against God deliberately, He will blot our names from the Book of Life forever:

Hebrew 10:26-31 “For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.  Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.  Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

Also if we continue willfully to sin against God, the Holy spirit will eventually take His flight and never return as it has been warned not to the world, but specifically to born again children of God because the book of Romans was a letter written by God the Holy Spirit through the Apostles Paul to the church in Rome in:

Roman 1:18-32 “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.  For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.  And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;  being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,  backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,  undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;  who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.”

In this passage of Holy Scripture, it shows us the clear evidence that if we continue to sin against God, He will eventually excommunicate us from Him (The Holy Spirit taking flight) as the Scripture says. “God gave them over”, “God gave them up” Because if sin is what we desire above God then He will completely deliver us over to it. That’s why The Lord Jesus gave this holy command to all His children including an adulteress woman caught in the act of adultery, whom Jesus Christ justified freely:

John 8:11 “go and sin no more”

And I’m glad you have reached out, friend. This is your divine appointment. I’m here to encourage you with the FULL truth of God’s Word that you can live holy and righteously in Jesus Christ, powerfully and successfully. We are supposed to be more than conquerors. But you have to make up your mind. You cannot be stuck in 2 opinions, friend. There are only 2 roads to choose here. The narrow road that leads to eternal life or the broad road that most people travel that leads to death, Hell and the grave (Matthew 7:13-14). And that’s why He gave us His Holy Spirit, to empower us to live Holy and righteously successfully by God’s standards. You see Jesus Christ didn’t set His church (the body of Christ up for failure, revealing and commanding us to live by His higher standard that would be impossible to live by) No! It’s more than possible, we just have to realize that simple truth and walk by the guidance of God the Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus Christ still loves you! Right now you are far from Him to see it and to sense that truth.  As it is promised today to you thus says the Lord Jesus Christ:

James 4:7-10 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.  Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”

                  • Brother Jack says:

Thanks for the words of encouragement through Gods mighty scriptures. The thing is I do only want to walk down the road which is narrow & leads to eternal life. My issue or worry is Ive sinned while in Christ & Christ in me through the spirit. The word of God says “Sin no more” when you become saved. I feel I have let the lord down big time through my weakness of this sin Ive committed. I know his son suffered the ultimate sacrifice so we could have life………& because of his death we have forgiveness of sins. The thing is though his son only died once………not 2, 50, 400 times for our sins & so it concerns me where I stand in the lords eyes on his return. I will keep praying, reading the word & drawing near to God before he returns & can only hope the lord forgives me for the horrible deed I did. As it says above from Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness & unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. So I really feel because Ive tripped in my walk that that now is accounted to me as ungodliness & unrighteousness which as it says above “the wrath of God will reveal this”. Yes Im more than willing to turn from ALL sin from this very day forward as I know the lord wants us walking with him but do worry whether my sin will be forgiven. Could you point out some scriptures where God says he will forgive us if we sin while walking in him.

                    • Brother Jack says:

Also just re-read above the scripture you added :
Hebrew 10:26-31 “For if we sin wilfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
So……….Ive sinned after receiving the knowledge of the truth………………..how much worse punishment, of you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God under foot…………insulted the Spirit of grace.
This I feel condemns those like myself who have sinned while having the Lord in their lives. Is that what that means? So where do I stand? Sorry for all the questions but I wish to get peace on this matter & to just know that the lord is a forgiving God even though we do muck up. Thanking you.

                    • The key phrase here is : if we willfully (continually, deliberately) sin against God. This shows us that we cannot confess one day and sin the next hour intentionally. This shows us that we cannot go on living like the devil and expect to enter Heaven at the end of the day. This passage of Scripture is not intended to condemn but to warn us if we continue to sin against God willfully on and on and on, there is consequences. God’s intention also is to encourage us that we can live successfully by God’s standards since we know the boundary lines through the life of the Holy Spirit living in born again child of God.

You see the Christian walk is like a baby learning to walk. Though that baby stumbles and falls. Sometime the parent picks up the child, or sometimes that child picks up himself and starts learning how to walk so the child will not fall again. Same with us, holiness is not natural to us, but the sin nature is. We, through the Word of God must learn how to walk and it’s a process. It’s a life long journey. It’s not a crawl nor a sprint. And we need to be reminded of this. But through this experience, you will understand what sin does. If you allow it, sin will destroy your faith in Jesus Christ and faith in His Word, the promises of God. And that’s what the devil is trying to do, steal your Salvation. By making you believe that you cannot be forgiven, when the Word of God tells us otherwise.

                    • In the last reply, the opening Scriptures shows us that The Lord forgives us of our stumbling: 1 John 2:1 “I write these things ( the epistle of 1 John), so that you may not sin against God. (Here’s the answer to your question) And if anyone sins ( anyone, wouldn’t that include you. This not only includes sinners but also children of God who has stumbles.) And if any one sins, we, (the children of God) have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. and He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for our only but also for the whole world.”

Hebrews 4 :14-16 “seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. (Here’s another point) for we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness, ( you see, we serve the one and only God who understands what we go through, knows the intention of the heart through experience. The only difference is, Jesus Christ did not yield to the temptations that causes sin) So He understands. That’s why He gave us a way of an escape. And your very right, He only died once and for all, but that doesn’t mean He only gives one chance. Or do you really know He is merciful. The relationship He calls all to have with Him is not a Master and servant relationship, but Father and Son relationship. Does not a father disciplines his child when he does wrong? And why do expect evil from God.

Thank you for the encouragement by pointing out these scriptures & giving me some understanding on them. God is great & it is wonderful to have him to turn too when this world is in turmoil. Glory to God. :-)

  10. Diane says:

Hello. I am Christian woman who has been so since age 8. I am currently in a relationship with a man who is also a Christian. Here’s my issue- when I met him, he was married. I did not know at first, but he told me so about 2 days after we met. I was surprised, and I wasn’t going to continue talking to him at first. But at the time, I was single and kinda lonely and just wanted some companionship, so I said we could only be friends. I had no intention of doing anything further. Well, we talked on the phone for about 2 weeks. He told me that his wife was out of state for the military. We went out to dinner, and he said that he and his wife were not on the best of terms. He said she changed her mind about having children, so he was unsure about his and her marriage lasting because he really wanted children. He told me that he was interested in me and that if he could make me his woman, he would. We talked over dinner for 3 hours, and when we left, we talked for 2 more hours while sitting in his car. The next day, we went out to dinner again, and we both could tell that the other one wanted to kiss. I knew it was wrong, but I allowed him to kiss me. A few weeks later, after still talking on the phone and hanging out, he came over and we became physically intimate. After literally 30 seconds, I started crying. I told him we could not do this because he is married. He stopped, and he started crying, too. We continued to hang out and talk on the phone and we kissed a few times and stayed the night over each other’s house a few times but we did not have sex again during this time. I knew it was wrong to hang out and kiss, but I couldn’t help it – I had developed feelings for him. A couple of months later, he went to visit his wife in another state so they could talk about the relationship. He called me from that state and told me hat he and his wife were going to get a divorce. The divorce was final one year later. However, during that time of being separated and filing the papers (and before the divorce was final), we continued to hang out, kiss, hold hands, spend the night, but we did not have sex! We felt bad that we were still involved (even though no sex) because he was not officially divorced, so several times, we agreed not to see each other and we stopped….but then we could call each other gain after a week. After the divorce was final, two months later, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and I said yes. We have been together for almost 2 years now. We love each other and want to be married to each other. I have asked God to forgive us for getting involved even though he was married, and my guilt is no longer there. However, he still feels guilty. I told him that God has forgiven us because we repented, and that we need to accept that he has forgiven us and move on from that and live our lives righteously. He brings up the story of David and how even though he asked for forgiveness for his sins (adultery and murder), God forgave him but his life was a total wreck after that (death of his children, etc.). So, my boyfriend feels that we will not be blessed if we get married and that perhaps we will be punished like David did. I really love him and want to marry him, and he says that same. However, this guilt is holding him back. Please help. (sorry so long, but there are a lot of details in my story!).

    • I thank you for your recent question. I’m just letting you know, that I am not ignoring your question but I am seeking the answer to your question from the Lord at this time, because I sense from the Holy Spirit that your situation is a little more complicated than what is seen on the surface. A little more complicated than you may realize. I encourage you to wait upon the Lord at this time as well. Because Marriage is a serious Covenant between wife, husband and God and is never to be taken lightly, treated as a common thing, nor done in haste. It is a Sacred and Holy bond, designed by God between a man and woman. I will reply to your question as soon as I am instructed by the Lord Jesus Christ to do so when I hear from Him directly soon, Amen. God bless you.

      • Thus says the Lord: “Do not go by this way, it will only lead to many sorrows, regrets and pain. For it is a snare and a trap for your soul fashioned by satan. There is a way that seems right to you, but the end leads to destruction. The way you want to go is the broad way that is full of deception and leads to destruction and many go by this.” “My Daughter: Go by the narrow way and True Peace and Happiness, THERE you will find. Choose wisely… Do not stay long in this valley of decision. Do not be stuck in two opinions. REBUILD My alter of your heart and follow Me My Daughter of Zion, the road I have made for you, The highway of Holiness Says the Lord.” “Follow Me, do not go by the way of the flesh and ungodliness! Do not consult men, but seek Me. Seek My guidance! I AM your Savior! I AM your Shepherd! I AM your Redeemer! I AM your Restorer! I AM your Deliverer! I AM your Provider! I AM your Husbandman and I will guide you! Draw near to Me and I will draw near to you! Seek Me with all your heart and I will speak to you. I will show you things you cannot see. I will reveal to you the deep hidden things of My Father, Says the Lord!” “I will bless you and heal your broken heart and heal your loneliness, IF you abide in Me. IF you pick up your cross and follow Me, Says the Lord your God who healeth thee!”

The Lord Jesus Christ Showed me that you, Sister, also need to lay down everything that hinders you from reading and study the Word of God and draw closer to God. It takes one washing of the blood of Jesus Christ to be justified and righteous in His sight. But it will take continual commitment, continual washing’s of the Word of God to be sanctified, to wash out the deep stains of sins and be clean and conformed to the pure image of Jesus Christ.

The Lord also showed me the word “Sabotage” coming from the guy you are seeing. Hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying! He “sabotaged” his marriage to be with you. And that’s why guilt and condemnation is upon him. He needs to go back to his wife. Divorce is not forever. He needs to repent and honor his vow he made between his wife and God. Whom God has joined together, let no man separate (whether it be a man, woman, cares of this world or law) LET NO MAN SEPARATE!

My brother I appreciate your message and I am so greatful, but it pains me a lot that I found this site late, I was actually looking for a way to end my life, then I was redirected to this site,
    My sins are numerouse;
    1. I lost my wife 2 yrs ago and I found love with my colleague who is a married woman, she shower me with love and everything
    2. I have lost my job now and this woman is still in love love with me
    3. I have lost everything which I believe is God pornishment for my sin
    4. Now I fighting myself not to commit suicide because I have lost everything, I am oweing so much debt that I can not pay
My sin is hunting me pls help

    • Hold on brother. It’s never too late. There is a reason why you were directed to the Lord’s Web-site “Hope For A Hopeless Generation.” I am so glad that you are finally realizing that you cannot do this in your own strength and reaching out. This is your divine appointment with the LORD Jesus Christ Because Jesus Christ is your Hope. All our Hope. He is your ever present help in time of need. In prayer, I pray that the Lord directs people to His web-site who He want’s to save, who are tired of playing games with God and want’s to rededicate their life back to Him and live a committed life in Jesus Christ without compromise. Whom He has called for His will, plan and purpose. Who want’s to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ. Who want’s to hear the Word of God and to learn all of God ‘s ways. And He is answering prayer. That’s why I know He has directed you to His web-site.

“Tell me what going on.” If you need someone to confide in here I am. Lord Jesus promised where there are two or three gather in His name,” there I am (“literally”) in their midst” (Matthew 18:19-21). God can forgive all sins and it’s never too late. Death makes it too late to repent. Repentance is in the now while living on this earth, not when you stand before God, face to face in the final judgment

If what your going through is punishment from God, then He is trying to get your attention to come back to Him, just like He did to the Children of Israel in the Old Testament. They sinned greatly against God. He warned them for decades to repent and love God. They refused Him and His ways to true happiness and completeness that can only be found in God through Jesus Christ our Lord. And then He brought to pass all He promised (His punishment. Because He disciples His children to bring you back to Himself Hebrews 12:3-11) The full account is found in the Books of: 1 Samuel; 2 Samuel 1 kings; 2 kings; 1 Chronicles; 2 Chronicles). But then He sent His prophets to encourage them that His punishment is not forever. And He will bring them back to the Promised Land and rebuild. Spiritually speaking rebuild a relation with God again. When will you finally humble yourself and say: “Here I am Lord. I repent from running from you. Here I am Lord.” The Lord Jesus Christ is calling you. He ‘s pleading with you.

      James 4:7-10

“Therefore submit to God.

Please here the warning that not a lot of people know about concerning suicide. Many People think that that’s the way to escape a life-time of pain and torment they are experiencing on earth. But could I put it in perspective, This tormented life on earth will seem like heaven in comparison to litteral eternal Hell in the lake of fire Forever without end or reprieve. And Here is what God warns about suicide:

      1 Corinthians 3:15-17

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple (The body: flesh; blood and bone), God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.

I want to here back from you.
