Is Jesus really the Son of God? And if so, how? Is what most people asks about Jesus the Christ. You have heard me and a lot of other people say, that Jesus is the Son of God! But how? I will prove that Jesus is the Son of God. For there are many skeptics, cynics, mockers and scoffers and even the ignorant in these last days. And also there are the curious who asks this simple, yet complicated question. Well my friend, look no further. ‘The Case For Christ!’ One day we will meet God face to Face. All of us will. Might as well meet Him Now.
You’ve have heard us proclaim that Jesus is the Son of God. How is a man named Jesus, the Son of God? Did He earn His divinity through doing good works, or being good? No! Certainly not! Jesus was in the beginning all along. He has been the Son of God all along. He was not created by God Himself, but have existed with God Almighty the Father, even before the creation of the world.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.”
So as we go back now to the book of:
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, in Our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
‘Let us make man?’ The word, ‘Us,’ is emphasized here. Was God talking to Himself? Certainly Not! God was proclaiming to all the heavenly host, His Son and His Holy Spirit, that He was about to create the first man, Adam. Now then Adam and Eve was then created. And had only one command, that God Almighty, the Father, had given them. Adam and Eve deliberately sinned that one command against God. And brought forth this first Bible prophesy in:
“And I will put enmity between you (,referring to the devil,) and the woman, (Mary the Mother of God,) and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
There are a lot of revelation in just this passage of scripture alone. But we will only stay focused on the prophesy of the birth of Christ. Now wait a minute. ‘between your seed (,referring again to the devil,) and her Seed’?
Biologically, a woman cannot produce seed. But eggs only. The man produces seed. And of course, when they get together, preferably through marriage, the man fertilizes the egg in a woman, and therefore conception happens, and life then, begins. Outside of this God given order, God created law, is simply a freak of nature. A birth defect, not ordained by God. For God cannot make mistakes, And He does not. So what God Almighty was telling us all in the very beginning, is that He knew, that man would sin. For He seen the end, before He created a beginning. And with that, He already had a plan to redeem man from the wages and penalty of sin, which by the way is death. As it is written:
“For the wages of sin is death.”
So this brings us to this next point:
The Birth of Jesus Christ.
“This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with Child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: (which is found in: Isaiah 7:14,) “The virgin will be with Child and will give birth to a Son, and they will call Him Immanuel”—which means, “God with us.”
The Hebrew name for the Greek word Jesus, is Jeshua, or, (Yesh, oo, uh), Which means simply: ‘The Lord Is Salvation.’ That is why God Almighty Himself appointed one of His angels to tell Joseph, to give the name Jesus, or Yeshua. We find this out as we continue on to read:
Matthew 1:24 & 25.
“When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a Son. And he gave Him the name Jesus.”
This is Jesus the Son of God. He did not earn His divinity. He was already divine, from the very beginning and through the sign of the virgin birth. This virgin birth through Mary, the Mother of God, makes Jesus: 100% Man. For He was born into this word, by the virgin birth into this flesh, bone, blood, and water; that you and I all have. And being conceived through the Holy Spirit, which means: that the Holy Spirit planted a seed in place of a physical earthly human being, into Mary, which makes Jesus: 100% divine. Which proves that Jesus is the God-Man, The Son of God through this equation. Still not convinced? Let’s read on.
“For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given, (given to sacrifice,) and the government will be on His shoulders. (this is referring to the very end found in: Revelation 19, starting in: verse 11, through: Chapter 22. And on through eternity. This also proves Christ Jesus’ resurrection. For God cannot give a dead person a government?) And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over His kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.” (meaning: this is promised. And that promise has already started to be fulfilled , through the birth of Jesus the Christ, The Son of God. And humanity is accelerating rapidly forward to the end, to completely fulfill this entire prophesy.)
Then you have the wise men’s gifts, which proves further that Jesus is the Son of God, and proves further, what His objectives were on this earth to begin with. You see the gifts, the wise men gave were symbolic to who Jesus Christ is and what He was to do. This is why these men were called wise men. They believed the prophesies of the Old Testament about the Christ; the Messiah to come. And they recognized Him as the baby in the manger. These gifts found in:
“On coming to the house, they saw the Child with His mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold and of incense (,That is; Frankincense,) and of myrrh.”
The gift of gold is very unusual. Everyone born in those days didn’t get gold. Gold is a gift for kings. So this gift is testifying that Jesus is the King of all kings. And Lord of all lords.
“On His robe and on His thigh He has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
Frankincense was the second gift given to Christ Jesus, when He was born. Frankincense was one of the ingredients for anointing oils in sacrificial offerings; found in: Leviticus 2:1. As a fumigant during animal sacrifices; found in: Exodus 30:7. And as a perfume; found in: Songs of Songs or The Songs of Solomon 3:6. So this prophesies about the death of Jesus Christ. The significance of His death. The sacrificial death. Which we will study later on. And lastly the gift of myrrh. Myrrh was used to embalm the dead. As well as many other usages, (according to the “Nelson’s Illustrated Dictionary of the Bible.”)
Also a baby has no power to fulfill Bible prophesies. Can we all agree with that. But when we look deeper into all this, we see parallels, that is not by chance, nor by coincidence. We can rule out coincidence, because coincidence is an accidental occurrence. According to the Webster’s New World Dictionary. It states carefully: Coincidence: ‘A coinciding; an accidental, but seemingly planned, occurrence of events, ideas and etcetera at the same time.’
All these events that are described in the Old Testament that was written roughly 5 hundred years or more; prior to Christ Jesus’, birth is not accidental but planned. And rightfully so. God Almighty saw the end before the beginning. He saw the desperate need to redeem man from the penalty and death from sin. To provide reconciliation between man and God. For God yearns to have a deep and personal relationship with man. It’s simple.
John 3:16, clearly states:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, That whoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
God Almighty prepared all this ahead of time. It all didn’t take place by chance, happen stance, accidental occurrences or by coincidence. Anyone who believes that all these things happened by any of these ways, is simply ignorant. For they have not done their own studies. They listen to what others say, without looking into these matters for themselves. Which is proof of laziness. And yet these are the very people who says about the Christians, that we are full of blind faith. That we don’t think for ourselves. We don’t or cannot think rationally nor do we have common sense. But having put that aside, the Old Testament Bible prophesies, clearly describes details of Christ Jesus’ birth.
It states in:
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for Me One who will be Ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”
Which is saying that The Christ will come from Bethlehem. Born from among a family from Judah, which is important. Why? In Verse 4 tells us why.
“He will stand and shepherd His flock in the strength of the LORD,
in the majesty of the name of the LORD His God.”
Well the Holy Word of God proves this prophesy to be true about Jesus the Christ. Found in: Matthew chapter 2. Starting in: verse 3. That the Jewish chief priests and teachers of the law even says that the Christ is to be born in Bethlehem in Judea, when asked by King Herod. Which obviously states the fact that people herd and was waiting for the prophesied Messiah to come. King Herod at that time, who governed Jerusalem for king Caesar of Rome at that time, was plotting to kill the Messiah, for many spiritual and political reasons.
In Luke, chapter 2, gives a more in depth account of Christ’s Birth:
“In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria. This tidbit of information, gives us a clear time line in human history, when the birth of Christ Jesus actually took place, for all those history buffs in the world.) And everyone went to his own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her Firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”
So they went down to Bethlehem to register in this forced census. At that time Marry gave birth to Jesus, the Son of God, which I already have proven above. So that is how this Old Testament Prophesy came to pass. Another thing about details, Jesus is from Nazareth. He is a Nazirite. Which the Bible prophesy states that, “He shall be a Nazarene.” which is also full filled in: Matthew 2:19-23.
Because king Herod was in pursuit to kill Jesus the Christ, an angel from the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him to take Marry and Jesus, the Christ down to Egypt, which can be read in Matthew 2:13-18. This fulfills the Old Testament Prophesy found in:
“When Israel was a child, I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My Son.”
This is not by coincidence, nor by chance. This is all done by the sovereignty of God Almighty.
