Revelation 1:15-19 Podcast

Revelation 1:15-19 And His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and His voice as the sound of many waters.

And He had in His right hand seven stars: and out of His mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and His countenance was as the sun shineth in His strength.

And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I Am the first and the last:

I Am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I Am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;

Jesus Christ Bares The Marks of His Works

He was beaten and bruised (Mathew 26:56-68/Luke 23:1-21)

He was mocked and crowned with the crown of thorns (Matthew 27:27-31)

Hands nailed to the cross

His feet also nailed to the cross (Psalm 22:16)

Died on the cross for the remission of all our sins (Romans 3)

His side was pierced with a spear (John 19:32-37)

And after Jesus Christ raised from the dead, He still physically bore those marks of His works of the cross in,

John 20:19-29 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

And when He had so said, He shewed unto them His hands and His side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you.

And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whosoever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whosoever sins ye retain, they are retained.

But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. The other disciples therefore said unto Him, We have seen the Lord.

But He said unto them, Except I shall see in His hands the prints of the nails, and put my finger in His side, I will not believe.

And after eight days again His disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

Then saith He to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold My hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into My side: and be not faithless, but believing.

And Thomas answered and said unto Him, My Lord and my God. Jesus Christ saith unto him, Thomas, Because thou seen Me, thou hast believed: Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

So, since Jesus Christ bears the marks of His works upon Himself at the cross, then why not bear also the marks of fire as well. “Behold, His arms and His feet like in colour to polished brass. like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace;”

This detail is too specific to ignore. And His arms and feet do not just serve as a symbol of meaning only. It serves a purpose, just like His nail scarred hands and feet, and His pierced side as a Testament forever…

That this is Jesus Christ, The only begotten Son of God! THE WORLDS REAL MESSIAH!!! Who took upon Himself everything of ours, to save that which is lost. To also deliver, set free and protect His people.

His Voice

John writes: “and His voice as the sound of many waters (Revelation 1:15). Daniel describes Jesus Christ’s voice the same way, just a slightly different choice of words: “and the voice of His words like the voice of a multitude (Daniel 10:6).

Jesus Christ’s voice serves as physical proof that He is the Son of God, because God Most High, His Father, has the same voice…As the saying goes, ‘Like father, like son.’

Ezekiel 43:2 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and His voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with His glory.

This is just one of a few reasons why Jesus Christ taught His disciples, John 10:30;38 “I and My Father are One;” “believe, that the Father is in Me and I in Him.”

Jesus Christ is literally Son, blood related to God the Most High. So God chose to speak through His only begotten Son while He was on this earth. For God sent Jesus Christ to speak His instructions by the unction of God Most Highs’ Holy Ghost,

John 8:42 for I proceeded forth and came from God: neither came I of Myself, but He sent Me.

John 12:49-50 For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

And I know that His commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.

God Most High And Jesus Christ Have An Audible Voice

Jesus Christ’s voice is also pointing out as it is the sound of many water, there are many ways He speaks to: the world, His children (individually) and His church (corporately). Obviously using a real audible voice.

He also uses human conscience, His Holy Bible, His Holy Ghost, His holy angel’s and also using His church.

So make no mistake about it, God Most High and Jesus Christ have an audible voice, and they do not have a problem to be heard by anyone.

Matthew 3:16-17 And Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him.

And lo, a voice from Heaven, saying, This is My beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased.

John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me:

God Speaks Through Human Conscience

John 8:7-9 So when they continued asking Him, He lifted up Himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

Romans 2:12-15 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature, the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

God Speaks Through His Word

Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God is also called the Word of God (John 1:1 & 14), and God speaks, using His Son as we have established earlier in this study:

John 12:49-50 For I have not spoken of Myself; but the Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

And I know that His commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak

Jesus Christ Speaks Through The Holy Ghost

John 16:13-15 Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.

He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are Mine: therefore said I, that He shall take of Mine, and shall shew it unto you.

God Speaks Through His Holy Angels

There are some holy angels assigned as His messengers. We’ll get more in depth with this, in our next study. Now going back for sec. to our last 2 studies ago in Revelation 1:8 God Is Alpha And Omega, The Almighty.

The section where we established that God the Father of Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ Himself is the beginning of all life and also the ending of all life as well.

We clearly see that God speaks to His messenger angels and sends them forth to relay His word. In this case in Revelation 14:14-16, we see a holy angel came out of God’s temple in Heaven and relayed a message from God to Jesus Christ

Revelation 14:14-16 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle.

And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to Him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in Thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for Thee to reap; for the earth or the harvest of the earth is ripe.

And He that sat on the cloud thrust in His sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

This is why it is written about holy angels in Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirit’s, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Jesus Christ Speaks Through His Church

Jesus Christ’s voice also symbolizes relationship with His church. He is the head of the church He built (Ephesians 5:23) through the work of the cross. Therefore, He is the voice of the church in every tribe, nation, language and dialects.

And if we are abiding in Christ our Savior and Lord individually and corporately as the body of Christ, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, whatever we hear from Him we speak, as He has taught,

Matthew 10:27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

Jesus Christ also speaks through those He has chosen (John 15:16), He speaks through those He called (Matthew 22:14) and He speaks through those he has trained. Some specifically as Pastors, Teachers, Prophets, and Evangelist’s (1 Corinthians 12:28).

This simply means, when Jesus Christ speaks, it’s not only a stern voice, but a sound of a multitude as well. And that’s exactly how Daniel describes His voice, “and the voice of His words like the voice of a multitude.”

Just imagine, you’re in a large coliseum that seats 50,000 people or more, cheering all at one time. Compare that to the sound of a mighty rushing river. It has a similar sound. This is how His voice is symbolic to a multitudes of His people world wide, the church.

Jesus Christ specifically taught (John 15:1-10) “Abide in Me.” The meaning of His teaching is to follow Jesus Christ by the unity of the Holy Ghost. Being in one mind and one accord with Jesus Christ.

Being so close in relationship with Jesus Christ, we become one flesh spiritually, just as the branch is to the vine.

So close to Him that we not only hear His audible voice, but also what many call His whispering voice. This kind of voice is actually His thoughts. That’s how close we are to be with God and with Jesus Christ His Son, as it is written

Ephesians 5:30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.

So this sums up the meaning to His voice as the sound of many waters. He speaks in many different ways, on so many different levels. There’s a lot to it.

Now all this was written to give us address, that the same person, both Daniel in Old Testament times, and John in New Testament times, is none other than Jesus Christ.

Testifying to both Jews and Gentiles that the same Jesus Christ whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, is truly the Son of God, Savior, the world’s real Messiah and there is no other!

So let’s quickly review our studies thus far. The facts of why Jesus Christ is the world’s real Messiah, for those who are holding out for another:

Jesus Christ is returning soon, to gather His elect, Every eye will see Him in the clouds. Everyone will hear His voice (referring to the study of Revelation 1:7 (Every Eye Shall See Jesus Christ). And see Him in His true glorified form as the Apostle John saw, when He comes.

This is the greatest reason why John took the time to record every detail about Jesus Christ, so there will be no confusion when those days arrive. You see, the counterfeit will not appear this way. He will only appear by human means as Jesus Christ warns:

Matthew 24:23;25 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.” “Wherefore if they shall say unto you, behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

Revelation 1:17-19 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I Am the first and the last:

I Am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I Am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
