Taming the flesh is a very real battle to a child of God. It takes faith and the power of God’s Holy Spirit who lives in us to help us put to death the will of the sinful flesh, pick up the cross and follow Jesus Christ our Lord daily.

We must also train our flesh to do the will of God as Christians, because the Lord Jesus Christ did not come to save the flesh, but the soul that makes us, us. The flesh (body) is just a suit that cloths us.

As a result, the flesh is not saved and will not enter the kingdom of Heaven either. For the body is sown into corruption (Genesis 3) and will be changed (glorified) into an incorruptible body in the glorious presence of God in the rapture or given new incorruptible bodies in death. (1 Corinthians 15:35-58).

Galatians 5:16-25 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”

Therefore, if we (the children of God) are born-again through God’s Holy Spirit, have active faith and have a close relationship with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, than we have power to overcome the flesh and the temptations of the devil.

Living unto God as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God as our reasonable service to Him; having power to crucify the will of the flesh.

Taming the flesh is keeping our flesh under subjection of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. This is key to living this New Life on earth in power through God’s Holy Spirit.

Real active faith produces righteous, holy living without hypocrisy. And if we learn to tame the flesh under the fruits of the Holy Spirit (self-control) in bridling the tongue against lying, cursing, gossip, slander, profanity and the likes.

Learning to live in obedience to God in everything, we will live in victory always under the anointing of the Holy Spirit of God. Because to live contrary to the Word of God quenches the Holy Spirit and His activity thereof in our daily lives.

The Word of God (the Holy Bible) can never change, but we must change according to God our Heavenly Father’s Holy Bible.

If we call ourselves “Christians,” than holy and righteous living is one of the most important facets of having a real relationship with God through the precious blood of Jesus Christ our Lord!

In this last generation we must strive to be part of the solution (salt and light of the world) instead of contributing to the worlds problems and worldliness.

We need to start glorifying the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as God, not in words only, but also in deeds. So we can make a powerful impact on this earth in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, the worlds real Savior, Messiah, Judge and King; The only begotten Son of God.

Study Highlights:

*00:03   James 3:1-2
God serves warning to self proclaimed Pastors, Teachers, Prophets, Evangelists and Apostles. Those whom the Lord calls into the sacred ministry first needs to learn how to be a Christian.

Learning how to put his/her own body under subjection of self-control from sinning. Then learn how to be a soul winner, then a Pastor or a Teacher or a Prophet or an Evangelist. For this is God’s biblical order of conduct in His Kingdom

*03:02   James 3:3-17
The first order of business in the Holiness Doctrine (according to the Book of James) is taming the tongue since it is one of the most difficult members of the body to put under subjection of self control. We need to tame the tongue with all diligence daily because it is an unruly evil left.

If left un-bridled, can cause us to sin greatly against the Lord. Even the Lord Jesus Christ made a great emphasis in this very important teaching, yet it is one of the most neglected teachings of God
