Audio Length: 42:21

The Body of Christ. Christ’s children, that is us, must get our priorities squarely aligned with God and His Word. This is our first step toward peace with God that surpasses all understanding. Being in right standing with God is the way to true peace that comes from God that surpasses all understanding. This is our first order of spiritual business in our personal walk with God in Christ Jesus, and that is our priorities. For we know and serve The One and Only God who is of order, not chaos and disorder. If you do not have this peace with God, in which is promised in Gods Word, than we must take inventory throughout or own walk in Christ continually. Amen! If you don’t have peace with God:

A). You do not have Christ Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior

B). Your priorities are out of alignment according to God’s Word.

C). You have un repented sins in your life, or you are in sin. Or your not heeding to the personal call of God has for your life in Him, which is sin. Rebellion.

D). You are a hearer of God’s Word and not a doer also.

E). Your not absolutely trusting in God in every realm of life, which is also sin.

F). All the above. Which is proof that you are not abiding in Christ Jesus. A backslidden state of separation between you and God as the result of sins.

It’s not good enough to hear a minister to proclaim loosely, loudly and usually obnoxiously to his/her congregation: “You have your priorities all wrong!” As they minister a message about how the church membership in these last days has dwindled. And then leave the congregation hanging, without really getting into the meat and potatoes of practical study of such a statement. Some ministers do this. There is an ulterior motive behind some of it. And that motive is a fear tactic to get people back into their church, through condemnation. Which by the way does not work. What is more practical is to teach the congregation what is and what should be the order of “Priorities” in a biblical standpoint. And to understand what we believe and why we believe it.

A good minister is not just one who is called by God Himself. But one who, whatever is being preached or taught in truth, that minister has to be able to back it up in the Word of God without perverting or twisting Biblical meanings or take the Holy Scriptures out of their context. Because remember, The Holy Word of God does not need an interpreter, but rather a reader, a hearer and a doer. For the interpretation of Scriptures is the Holy Spirits job found in:

John 14:26

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

And also,

John 16:13-15

“But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, (that is, God the Holy Spirit) He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to Me by taking from what is Mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is Mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is Mine and make it known to you.”

You see, the Word of God interprets itself. It’s the Living Word. It’s alive, Because of the Holy Spirit of Truth testifying on behalf of Christ Jesus, The Only Begotten Living Son of the Living God. The Living Word of God manifested in flesh. Amen!

A good minister who is thorough in the study of God’s Word, brings down future argument, controversies and heresies. Let me read that again and I pray that you will never forget this simple truth from the Lord God Most High Himself. A good minister who is thorough in the study of God’s Word, brings down future argument, controversies and heresies. And if that minister cannot back up any proclamations, then that minister needs to realign his /herself to the true Theology of the Holy Word of God. Because a good minister who is thorough, The message no one can refute. And if people still do, then they are fighting and arguing against God Himself. Amen! Not only that, but if a good minister who is thorough. Than he/she brings and equips the hearers of faith, the saint of Christ Jesus with clarity, deeper revelation knowledge, and deeper wisdom and understanding.

What is revelation knowledge? Revelation: ‘It is a revealing. a striking disclosure. (Theology) Gods disclosure to humanity of divine truth.’ (According to the Webster’s New World Dictionary.) It’s information that was once hidden, is now revealed. In order to do what the Word of God says to do, for example. You need revelation knowledge to carry out what the will of God is and what the Word of God says. Knowledge from the Holy Word of God must be made alive in us, in order to do what it tells us to do. What is wisdom and understanding? The Word of God defines wisdom and understanding this way:

Job 28:28

“And He said to man, ‘The fear of the Lord—that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.’ “

So what does it mean to Shun evil? The word Shun: ‘It is to keep away from. To avoid.’ (According to the Webster’s New World Dictionary.) Or how I would define that is:’ to run away from something not righteous.’ What is the fear of the Lord? The Word of God does define the “fear of the Lord: ”

Proverbs 8:13

“To fear the LORD is to hate evil;”

And then God Almighty our Father reveals to us what He hates as we read on in that verse:

“I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.”

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil. All kinds of evil. That’s wisdom. And to avoid, to keep away, to run away from evil and sins. That is understanding. (Remember this. Later on we will be doing a study of what God deems as sin. What is sin according to God’s Holy Word.)

Now lets get into the Biblical order of our Priorities:

#1 Your relationship with God

#2 Your family

#3 Church

#4 Work

#1 Your relationship with God is priority number 1. I used to tell people, God is first because in Revelation 22:13 states as fact that Jesus is the: “Alpha and the Omega, (which means in Greek) the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” So if you want to be real radical for God. He should not only be the first of your days, but also the last of your nights as well. But that’s up to you. This truth goes all the way back to Genesis chapters 1&2.

You see the Jewish customs, which is the customs of God, gives you a basic run down of what all happened namely in Genesis Chapter 1. And then gives you the same account but in greater detail in another chapter. There is one great thing out of many that I need you to see without reading all of Genesis Chapter 1. And that’s in Verses: 3;6;9;11;14;20; & 24. In these verses it always starts out as “And God said!” And then it was done. He had created everything by spoken word. Spoken authority. But then there was something different in Verse 26. God proclaims what He was about to do in all of Heaven. To Himself. To the Lord Jesus His Son, and to all of His Holy angels. And then in:

Genesis 2:7

“The LORD God formed the man (Adam, the first man on earth) from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”

God literally formed Adam by His own hand. The word Adam is a Hebrew word, which means simply, “man.” “God Almighty the Father came to earth and formed man, meaning: He formed Adam by His hand, from the dust of the ground. He didn’t speak Adam into a form. Nor did He speak Adam into a complete living instant existence like he did with all of His other creations, that we see, touch, smell, taste and hear as we read in Genesis 1. God then breathed life into the nostrils of Adam. From mud he became flesh, blood and bone. And what was the first thing Adam saw? He saw Gods face. Adam was literally face to face with God in that moment.

Now I know what the Holy Word of God says about this. It say’s that Moses kept praying fervently to The One and Only God our Father, to show him (Moses), His (God’s) glory. God Most High then said to Moses:

Exodus 33:12-23 I encourage you to read it for yourself. We will only go through the highlights here: in verse 20,

“But He (God) said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.”

But you have to remember, Adam at this point was perfect in every way. There was no corruption. There was no evil in Adam. Nor was there any sin in him at this point of time. It wasn’t until much later that the devil tempted Eve. Eve tempted Adam. And they both then rebelled against God the one and only Commandment at that time that God gave to them, found in: Genesis 2:8-17. As soon as Adam and Eve made a conscious decision to rebel against God. That is, when man became sinners, imperfect and full of the desire to sin and to rebel against God Almighty. And that was the time when all humanity instantly inherited the sin nature, from that time to the present. And onward to the end of the world.

So when God created Adam and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. The first thing established is: the relationship between humanity and God. In all of the Holy Word of God, the purpose of humanity, why God created humankind to begin with is simply to have fellowship. It’s not living to self or for self. But to have fellowship/ relationship with God, our Creator, our Father. That’s one of the reasons why He doesn’t want us to sin against Him, is because sin separates us from God. Severs our communication line with God. You see, He wants to have a continuous relationship with us. And when we choose to deliberately sin against Him, He has to separate Himself from us. Another reason is that sin is immoral. And He is The Holy God.

#2 Your family should be your 2nd priority. After God established a relationship with man/ Adam. He then made the woman Eve in:

Genesis 2:21-24

“So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, He (meaning God) took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of the man, and He brought her to the man. (Now here is the marriage covenant) The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman, ‘ for she was taken out of man.” For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.”

God did not make Eve out of Adams head bone nor the foot bone. But out of Adams rib came Eve, from the side bone meaning: equals, a team. And that is what marriage is, a best friend team effort relationship. God established family 2nd. Because the product of marriage is family. And if you want to get real radical about it: Your wife should be 1st in the order of family priorities. Because in most cases the wife was 1st and then your children came 2nd.

#3 Church should be your 3rd priority, even though technically in the beginning, work was established by God 3rd, in chronological Biblical order of events before Church. But Work is a cursed product as the result of Adam and Eve’s deliberate sin and rebellion against God.

Genesis 3:17-19

“To Adam He said, (God said) “Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat of it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

And then a thousand + years after the rebellion and judgment, God established Church last. At that time God had given the Jews as well as all humanity the Law found in: Exodus 20. But because of technicalities:

A): for argument sake. Ministers would be upset over doctrines that would put church last priority. And we are not to give in to strife and cause divisions. So for argument sake church should be third in the priority order, even though, it is not in chronological Biblical order. But that’s not to say that in the “Spiritual Priorities,” which we will be getting into, next, church doesn’t fall as last priority. It is last priority under “Spiritual Priorities.” Find out how in our next studies.

And B): It is morally right to take care of church family needs above your work family. Besides, work will always be there as long as there is a tomorrow. And we toil to get work done. When in reality there will always be more to do. When we are called home to be with Lord Forever, there will always be some one to take our place in the work force. Work will never be done on earth. And God will bless you, by you blessing a brother or sister in the now as in immediate need. So taking care of the church family is 3rd priority Amen! Christ Jesus taught:

Matthew 5:41&42

“And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.”

#4 Work should be your last Priority. There is not much to say here. As the Word of God says, that work is the product of the curse because of sin in Genesis 3:17-19. Now there is a Biblical mandate to work found in:

1 Timothy 5:8

“If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”

Consequences:

We all know and can trust that All things good, holy, righteous and just comes from God. Now there are consequences for our priorities out order. Anything put above God or our relationship with Him is Idolatry. And the Word of God is very clear, idolatry is sin. And sin separates us from God. (God will never change nor will God ever change His mind on this ever!) Idolatry could be family or church. Possessions, money which would put work as highest priority above God is Idolatry. And if we continue in that. the blessings of God will cease. And I’m not just talking about financially. But in every realm of our existence such as: a deep relationship with Christ Jesus, full of anointing. Revelation knowledge, peace with God. Physical protection from God, divine health: mentally, physically and emotionally. All found in:

Psalms 91:1-16

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

In order to claim these following promises, you must do what the 1st verse says to do.

A). Dwell

B). Abide

All blessings of God have conditions, except for 2. And that is:

#1). Justification, which is Grace/Salvation.

#2). The Love of God, which is unconditional and unmerited.

But every other blessings in the Word of God have conditions. (We will get more in-depth into this study in this series later on.) There is no such doctrine in The Word of God as having the ability or authority to “name it and claim it. Blab it and grab it. Gods conditions are based upon faith which produces action or doing, according James 1:21-25 & 2:14-26. So when we do these 2 things which is to “abide” and “dwell” than therefore the following blessings are yours and are promised to you by God Himself. The Word of God continues to say in: Psalm 91

“I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
my God, in Him I will trust.”

So in order to absolutely trust God, you have to know Him. And how do you get to know Him? By abiding in Him. Spending time with Him. Dwelling in Him. Trusting in God is another condition here. Once these conditions are met, than first off, God will protect you as God promised in the following:

“Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler” (the schemes of wicked people and the devil.) And from the perilous pestilence. (disease of all types) He shall cover you (or hide you with His divine protection) with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. (Protecting from lies and the liar by God Almighty’s truth. Real truth found in His entire Word, The Word of God, The Holy Bible.) You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence (disease) that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. (what shall not come near you? The answer is found in the previous verse “destruction, pestilence The workings of lie or anything evil that tries to come against you . It will not prosper. Because you trust in the Lord. You dwell and abide in Christ Jesus.”) Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you. To keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread (Tread is meaning: authority) upon the lion and the cobra, (deadly beasts) The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

Now notice the parentheses in the following verses. This is God speaking directly not only to the psalmist, but us all who read this as well. It’s exactly like when the Lord Jesus speaks something so important, that He gets your undivided attention by saying: “I tell you the truth,” or “Verily, verily I say to you.” depending on the translation. it’s the same thing Here:

“Because he has set his love upon Me, (truly loving God is another condition. And we will also study this as well. How to really and truly love God, and what it means to love God.) therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; (This particular Scripture I personally stand upon in prayer by unshakable unwavering faith. And it is important to know the Names of God. Notice I said in plural “Names” of God. Because the character of God is in His names. What He does is in His names. For God’s Character are His names. God Himself is represented by and through His names His nature is His names. He is what His names describes. And we‘ll be getting into that study in this series as well .)

because he has known My name. ( And here are the blessing from that condition) He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”

This is all to be taken literally in every realm of our life. If we put anything above God, than we are committing idolatry and we won’t be blessed.

Luke 14:25-27

Leaving All to Follow Christ

“Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them, “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.”

You can even worship church, rather than worshipping God, and calling it God. Take for example. The following question: Do you spend more time at church than in time reading the Word of God or prayer?

If yes, you are in idolatry. Church is not your main provider in anything. But they are to provide some strength to the down cast and to the body of Christ. Some hope for the hopeless and so forth. Notice, I used the Word “Some” For Christ Jesus is our Shepherd. God Almighty our Father is our Provider of all of our needs in every realm of our lives in Christ Jesus. Not the church. And not the leaders of the church. God The Holy Spirit is our Helper. Our Guidance to all truth. Gods Spirit who convicts us of all sins. (which by the way, we will study in this series. The Study of The Holy Spirit.) Putting anything above God is idolatry. And what does God say about that:

Exodus 20:1-4

The Ten Commandments

“And God spoke all these words, saying: (the word “saying” is an action word, which means He is still saying today) “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. “You shall have no other gods before Me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”

Or if you put Church above your marriage, I guarantee you, your marriage will die. It will not last long. This is one of many reasons why there are many Christians who divorce. Because the marriage between a man a woman needs nurturing constantly, through fellowship and union with one another. And if you are not giving that in your marriage it will die. It’s like a plant without water, trying to survive in the scorching heat. And spouses gets vulnerable to temptations, to sins that would destroy a marriage fairly quickly when we are lonely. We find this truth with Adam and Eve in:

Genesis 3:1-8

The Temptation and Fall of Man

“Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he (the devil) said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” (Seed planting of temptation begins with a question in order to get Eve to think on the temptation. And satan is using the 5 senses of humanity to tempt Eve to sin) And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, ( now they couldn’t see God, face to face anymore because sin has separated God from man. So therefore they could only hear God) and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.”

When satan came to tempt Eve, where was Adam? Where was Adam to protect Eve. I’m not saying that they were in a fight and are not talking to one another at that point and moment of time. But it is a known fact as we see in this passage of Scripture, that Adam and Eve were separated for a short moment of time, perhaps to gather food. Which they most likely did daily, with the same ritual routine in which satan had studied in order to take the perfect opportune time to tempt Eve to sin against God. And that is the point. The devil will use those lonely times, our vulnerable times, which is satan’s usual opportunity to bring forth temptations.

Or if you put family above God. It‘s idolatry. We also read what Jesus taught us in regards to idolatry, in:

Matthew 10:37-39

“Anyone who loves their father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for My sake will find it.”

Another words, Lord Jesus is telling us that He, His Father and His Holy Spirit are more important than anything in this life. He is above all. He created all and has given all to glorify Himself. And if anyone finds the things of this world more important than He, than we are not worthy of Christ nor His kingdom. Anything. ANYTHING that is put as more important than God is idolatry. And your life is out of order. Because as we read, The relationship between God and man was established first and foremost above all, after creation. God had to create the universe. The solar systems. The earth and all that is in the earth in order to sustain humanity. So He can establish the most important thing in this life. And that is the relationship between God and man. And if we put Him first and last (if you want to get real radical in this journey with Christ) than balance and order will follow. Why? Because He is The God, The One and Only, who is of balance and order not chaos and disorder. He will give peace, and protection. Now that’s not to say that we’ll lay on a bed of roses throughout our walk in Christ Jesus. For God will allow trouble, trials and tribulation in our lives in order to strengthen us, and or to straighten us out. Other wise we will become weak. ( I encourage you to listen to the audio sermons “From The Pit To The Palace.” And then listen to “Be Fruitful And Multiply.” For these messages the Lord has revealed, will give us a better understanding what God’s point is in trials and tribulations.) Rather it is for our benefit in Him that woes will come, but we will not be moved nor shaken as long as we abide in Christ. Dwell in God and in the leading and guidance of His Holy Spirit. The Word of God also say’s and listen carefully in:

James 1:19-25

“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the Word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”

If we apply the Word of God and this priority principle in our lives. The Lord guarantees that you will be well balanced, blessed and in God’s order of life. In God’s will in our relationship with our Creator, Savior, and Lord. And the peace of God will be evident in your walk with Him.

Closing

Now the Spiritual priorities are as follows:

#1). Reading the Word of God.

#2). Prayer (Personal prayer. Prayer closet prayers and Corporate prayers.)

#3). Church.

Why this order? Simple. Reading the Word of God should be first and foremost because, this is the major part of abiding in Christ Jesus our Lord. You cannot pray effectively without the Word of God. You cannot have a relationship with Christ in God without the Word of God. For it is our lamp unto our feet in this darkened world. And you should never, never, Ever…solely rely on church for hearing the Word of God. Because there are many who preach and teach recklessly the Word of God. Putting in there own twist to what they think the Word of God is teaching. There are many who mixes truth with lie. Truth with error. But rather rely solely on the inerrant Word of God and His Holy Spirit. Amen! Remember this in our next series of studies. God bless you, your family and your friends.
