Another mark of real Christianity is servitude. Jesus Christ is our prime example of this Christian trait:

He rejected His throne (John 1:1-14), and descended from Heaven (Ephesians 4:8-9). He humbled Himself in the likeness of man as a babe through the virgin birth from Mary, conceived by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:18-21).

Taking the form of a bondservant to serve (Matthew 20:25-28) as a sacrificial Lamb, appointed by God His Father from the Law (Isaiah 53). He died to deliver His people from their sins, through the shedding of His blood at the cross on Calvary (Hebrews 9-10). To give us the gift of God’s Holy Spirit (John 14:15-31) and reconciled us back to the Father (Romans 5).

Risen from the dead on the third day (John 20-21/Acts 1:8/1 Corinthians 15), to deliver His people from the power of sins, the sting death, and saves us from the wrath of God (Hell and the grave). Giving everlasting life and hope through the new life He has given freely unto those who believe.

He ascended back into Heaven and declared His work complete. Thus through His life given, have we now salvation through Jesus Christ The Messiah, The only begotten, living Son of the living God.

Therefore, in this new life, being born-again through the blood of Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of God, He has given us a right heart (a loving, obedient and faithful servants heart) to serve God and man in need with a steadfast Spirit within us, to love and serve as the Lord’s ambassadors. And to walk as He has walked, in total obedience and holiness, serving each other in the love and fear of God.

As Christians, servants and children of Almighty God; we are to walk blameless and harmless (innocent, holy, and self controlled) against all opposition without disputing. Since arguments and dissensions leads to ungodliness (2 Timothy 2:23-26).

We are to learn from Jesus Christ (our best example) to walk as He has walked (1 John 2:3-6). A merciful servant who spoke the truth boldly, lived right according to God’s standards, loves generously, challenged religion and having powerful active faith to demonstrate God His Father’s love to all, through signs, wonders and miracles.

We are to live in the Spirit of God, and by the fruits of the Holy Spirit. This is why Jesus Christ ministered to those who are born-again by the Spirit of God, let your light so shine before men, that they (the world) may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven (Matthew 5:16).” Only born-again Christians have the true Light. Let it shine.

True servants of God also has powerful faith to do what Jesus Christ has done, to demonstrate the love of God by His power (Matthew 10:1-8). The Apostle James puts it this way, “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, ‘you have faith, and I have works.’ Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works (James 2:14-26).”

The anointing, the fruits of the Holy Spirit of God, and a true servants heart are all characteristics of being washed in the blood of Jesus Christ, born-again by the Spirit of God and knowing our Heavenly Father. We love the brethren and encourage one another because we are born-again this way, and we not only look out for ourselves but also for the best interest of others as well.

Love shares each others burdens. Love prays for one another. Love tells the truth without compromise, thus a Christian who do not have love is not a servant nor are they a child of God (1 Corinthians 13:1-3).
