What is wisdom and understanding? Wisdom is the fear of the Lord, Job 28:28 Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,

To be afraid to sin against God. Sin separates us/severs our communion with God and can destroy us physically and spiritually. Because sin to a child of God is deadly:

James 1:14-15 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

What is understanding? Understanding is to shun evil. Run away from all types, shadows and forms of evil, wickedness and ungodliness as the Job continues to show us, Job 28:28 And to depart from evil is understanding.

If we the church truly understand God’s Word! If we truly understand His will for us all! If we truly know the Lord our God, we would then do what His Word teaches because in short, that’s what understanding is: ‘Not only be hearers of God’s Word but be doers of His Word also.’ If we are truly born-again as we claim to be, than the Holy Spirit who dwells in us richly will be evident in our walk in the Lord Jesus Christ. And that’s what this next series of studies will be focusing on. The Holy Spirit entitles this series: “Biblical Principles To Powerful Living.”

The Goal in this next series of Biblical studies: is to learn through the direction of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Bible how to live holy and pleasing, as instruments of righteousness in the hands of the living God Almighty, as in the days of the Book of Acts.

Learning how to apply Biblical principles to our daily walk in the Lord, in order to be used as ambassadors of Jesus Christ in an intimate and powerful way. To give Him glory and honor from the smallest to the greatest ways in what we do to glorify His holy and powerful name. To glorify The Most High God as God, is to be deliberate in righteousness:

Colossians 3:16-17 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

To allow God to mold us and be set apart from the ways and patterns of this corrupt, sinful, fallen world as God our Savior called us to do for His grand will, plan and purpose. Showing us what the “glorious church” looks like and how to be that glorious church without spot, wrinkle or any such blemish nor hypocrisy at all, that the Lord Jesus Christ commands and expects us to be.

Also this series of studies teaches the church not only how to be The glorious and victorious bride of Jesus Christ, but also teaches us how to stand against satan our enemy and all his worldly and carnal works through the doctrines of God‘s Word. Learning to live exactly the opposite of the ways of the world, the ways of the flesh which is the works of satan

2 Corinthians 6:17-18 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.

If we are born-again in Jesus Christ than the Lord hath given us the Holy Spirit to live in us and to lead and guide us into all truth. To teach us all His ways,

Galatians 5:16-25 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Who Is The Church?

We must clarify who the church is. The church is: children of God, sons and daughters of God! Those who surrendered our hearts, minds, soul and body completely over to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, who are born-again through the Spirit of God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel:

Romans 8:1-14 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: in flesh

meaning: He was sent to this earth by God His Father, born into this world by the virgin birth in the flesh, conceived by the Holy Spirit. And while He was on this earth

He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.

So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors—not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

This means that God excludes worldly, carnally minded sinners and heathen who rejects Jesus Christ as Lord to be children of God. You must be born-again by the Spirit of God in order to be sons and daughters of the Most High God through the blood of Jesus Christ:

John 3:3&5

Verse:3- “Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Verse:5- “Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.”

John 14:15-26 If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments (all the teachings of Jesus Christ) and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?” Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; (Jesus Christ is describing worldly carnally minded people) and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

Jesus Christ is the dividing line which separates sheep from the goats, true believers and followers of Jesus Christ vs. the counterfeits. There’s only one way to heaven and the way is through Jesus Christ! There is only one way your sins can be washed away, and that one way is through the blood of Jesus Christ! And there is only one way to make your call and election sure and that’s through the narrow way of the Lord Jesus Christ, by His standards!

In order to be His true disciple, in order to have the anointing of God. In order to be the glorious church He expects us to be, we must deny ourselves pick up our cross and follow Him. Live holy as He is holy and that’s what He commands and teaches. That’s what He expects from us! That’s what He requires! There is no other way! Thus God’s Holy Spirit ministered the difference between children of God vs. children of satan.

1 John 3:1-3 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”

Repentance is pointless if you’re not washed in the blood of Jesus Christ! And a form of godliness is vanity apart from Jesus Christ! Are you wash in the blood, the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb? Are your garment spotless, are they white as snow! ARE YOU WASHED IN THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB!
