Opening Scripture: Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord

All humanity pays a price every day for one sin that was committed in the Garden of Eden. That one act of sin came forth wages.

Wages: ‘Payment; price for sinning.’

The wages of sins can result in a physical payment, due to poor choices and decisions of sins that can lead to a physical death. Such as homosexual relationships and adultery can lead to AIDS and STDs of all types that can lead to death.

Drunkenness can lead to Cirrhosis. Tobacco can cause all kinds of cancers (heavy metals) and C.O.P. D. which can also lead to death. Drug use can lead to overdosing and that will kill you “Because the wages of sin is death”

The wages of sin are not just limited to physical death only, but ultimately a spiritual death (to a Christian, that means separation from God’s communion and fellowship)

Wages (plural) = Garden of Eden

All humanity are still paying the wages of one sin in the Garden of Eden today all the way to the end. This is why all humanity is in desperate need of Jesus Christ.

Because we are all automatic sinners at birth, and not one sin or sinner will enter the Kingdom of Heaven (Revelation 21:27). The first of the wages of sin, is the opening of the eyes to sin, shame and guilt

Genesis 3:6-7 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

If we yield to sin, the first thing that happens to our soul is the vexation of shame and condemnation. But Jesus Christ’s way is the remedy,

Romans 8:1-2 Therefore there is now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

The next wage of one sin committed in the garden, is fear and spiritual separation from God (spiritual blindness/spiritual death) where we can no longer see and have fellowship with God as Adam and Eve once did before sin.

Notice: after sin Adam and Eve no longer saw God but herd Him walking in garden and were afraid of God

Genesis 3:8-12 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.

And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard Thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

And He said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, The woman whom Thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Romans 8:7-13 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.

Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

The conflict between life and death are, the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ!

Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman He said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Sorrows and pain in child bearing are also the wages of sins. Sorrows are troubles, heartache, disappointments = failures, great distresses = restlessness, vexation of the soul

Job 14:1 Man that is born of a woman is few of days, and full of trouble.

Working hard to gain very little is the next wage of sin, Genesis 3:17-19 And unto Adam He said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it:

cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Working hard to gain little is a curse from God, another wage for the one act of sin. The other wage of sin is a physical death that came after. Before sin, there was no death until after.

The penalty for sin is death both spiritually and then physically. These are the wages of sin and sin is the invention of satan, to do what? To steel, kill and destroy our relationship with God, separate Christians from Christ and torment humanity.

The wages of sins are the workings of satan, the very opposite of God’s original design of life. God never intended us to be sick or work hard. God never intended us to die physically or spiritually.

Those are not the designs of God, because God is life and there is no death in Him. When Adam and Eve sinned, they granted death access upon this earth. Sin is the gateway to demonic and satanic activity on earth and the wages of sin are satan’s invention

God did not create death. God and the Lord Jesus Christ are the Author and Creator of all life. In Him is Life (John 1:3). God created all life to be Holy, righteous and good. He equipped all life to have choices. satan used to be a holy angel until iniquity was found in his heart (Ezekiel 28:13-15/Revelation 12:7-12).

So where does death come from? satan appointed one of the fallen holy angels to be his death angel. Death is not a concept or a natural occurrence to life. Death is a real being, a demonic angel,

Revelation 6:7-8 And when He had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him.

And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Furthermore, God will not throw a concept into the Lake of Fire, Real beings and real places will be cast into the eternal Lake of Fire, thus Death, the last enemy of God, will be cast into the Lake of Fire

1 Corinthians 15:26 The last that shall be destroyed is death

The enemies of God that will be cast into the eternal Lake of Fire in this order is:

  1. The antichrist and the false prophet (Rev. 19:20)
  2. satan (Revelation 20:10)
  3. People who rejected Jesus Christ (Rev. 20:12-15)
  4. Death and Hell (Rev. 20:14)

Death was never the design or will of God, because only in Him is life forever more. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by Me.

Another wage of all sin is a spiritual death, a physical and spiritual separation from God’s physical presence first illustrated in the Garden of Eden,

Genesis 3:23-24 Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

God separated them out of the Garden of Eden, banishing them from having any rest, fellowship and communion with God. Thus all humanity died that day both spiritually and physically…

But the account does not stop here, as far as the wages of sins is death, it continues with: BUT THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST! For those who are saved from Gods separation and wrath through Jesus Christ, will He restore all things back to Gods original design,

Revelation 21:1-5 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Revelation 22:3-7 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him: And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads.

And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

And He said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to shew unto His servants the things which must shortly be done. Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
