The Apostle Peter makes an amazing statement in the opening sermon through the anointing and inspiration of God the Holy Spirit, that many of us today skim over without stopping and pondering the hidden great revelation’s of truth found in:

1 Peter 1:3 according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”

Peter puts the reality of the “abundant mercies” of God into perspective, in this short, yet simple statement, in retrospect of His own personal failure: the denial of Jesus Christ (Luke 22:31-62). Reflecting on how the Lord gave him a second chance, “begotten us again” (John 21).

If the Lord came on the shores of Galilee to restore a relationship with Peter, then He is looking for that one lost sheep who strayed away in like manner (Luke 15:4-7), could that lost sheep be you? Even though the Lord Jesus Christ died once for sins (Romans 6:9-11), that doesn’t mean He only gives a child of God one chance of repentance. His Mercies are in abundance as the Apostle Peter discovered first hand and ministered about. The Word of God says:

Hebrews 4:14-16 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

We need to stop and ponder often and reflect on the goodness of God, the wonders of God’s mercy and grace, as the Apostle Peter had done here. Those who are born-again children of God, whom Jesus Christ chose (John 15:15-17), needs to deeply reflect on the honor and privilege of knowing Him just as He chose Peter whom He knew would deny Him. Taking time every day to thank God always for the privilege of choosing us to know Him.

Ephesians 2:1-10 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air (the devil and his works), the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

But never forget the warnings of God either. Just because He is rich in mercy, do not let that truth be a license to continue on sinning deliberately and live on your own terms and conditions because God is not in that. God does not bless messes.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Therefore as the Lord Jesus Christ warns and is still in effect today. Revealing to us, that we can miss heaven (lose salvation) completely if we continue to deny Jesus Christ both in word and in deed, Matthew 10:32-33 Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.”

May our Lord Jesus Christ keep His children in the palm of His right hand. Teaching us all His holy and righteous ways, being conformed to His image and likeness as He leads and guides us into all truth from His holy Word by His Holy Spirit.

May The Lord Jesus Christ empower His faithful with the gifts, power and fire from His Holy Spirit also that He has promised in equipping His saints. To edify, encourage and instruct those who are in the faith in righteousness. Equipping us with the demonstration of the power of God to set captive’s free and with the anointing of God to preach His Gospel with convincing proofs, Amen! God bless you, your family and your friends.
