Love is the highest call of all virtues (1 Corinthians 13). In fact the Lord Jesus’ entire ministry is rooted and grounded in love. The root of compassion is love without hypocrisy. Love is the first fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). And is the greatest command of all: love God and to love your neighbor (Mark 12:28-29/Exodus 20:1-17). So it is no wonder why the Lord Jesus commanded His children to bear fruit as His representatives through godly and most holy love. This wasn’t a suggestion, but a command

How do we bear fruit of the Holy Spirit? First of all you must be born-again (John 3:1-5), because without the Holy Spirit you cannot bear godly fruit, for it cannot be counterfeited. Either you have the Holy Spirit living in you or not. And without the Holy Spirit you cannot be a Christian (Romans 8:5-11), that’s key #1. After this there are two more important keys

What does love look like in Action? Also the Holy Bible warns us if we lack the “Jesus kind of love” in our walk , we can hinder the Holy Spirit from operating through us. And those who have the Spiritual gifts in operation and compromise the love walk, Spiritual gifts will cease because of the lack of holy love. Love is the root to Jesus Christ’s ministry. Preaching the Word of God and setting the captives free was all done by the deep love, compassion and mercy of God upon all humanity. ‘God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, and whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.’

What can hinder our love walk? Compromise is a subtle killer. Compromise does not happen over night but it is gradual and can lead us astray from Jesus Christ, if not kept in check. How do we combat this? By staying faithful in the ways of God and submit ourselves to God completely and continually throughout our walk in the Lord Jesus Christ. When we perfect our love walk through God’s Holy Spirit and Word, then the power of God will move in us through us and around us. Because that is the main ingredient to an effective ministry of the holy Gospel
