Revelation 5:1-6 And I saw in the right hand of Him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

And no man in Heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

There are several important revealing’s in this passage of Scripture. First, the book that’s in the right hand of God who sits on the throne has already been written front and back and sealed with seven seals.

You can say it’s a prophetic book because God wrote how He will judge the world as His first degree of chastisements, trying to wake up the sleeping lethargic church and to correct the directions of sinners to repentance and sealed it.

And when Jesus Christ the Lamb opens the seals and reads what’s contained in this book, right then it will come to pass. Everything contained in this prophetic book that the Lord receives from the right hand of God His Father is revealed in Revelation 6.

This is why this message is titled: “A Prelude To All Judgments (part 2)” because Revelation chapters 4 & 5 is really setting up Revelation chapter 6. It’s revealing how Jesus Christ receives the book He will read from in chapter 6.

Also notice closely the book that’s already written front and back and sealed is another important detail in itself. This means that no other judgments can be added. What’s already written is written and it will happen just as it has been written as the first degree of global chastisements for sinning. The sealing of this book means all the words contained cannot be erased. These words are sure.

Second, no man in heaven or on earth, or under the earth was worthy to open the book and loose its seals except for Jesus Christ; The Lamb of God, ‘the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David.’ He’s the only One Who is worthy.

And notice closely, stood a Lamb as it had been slain,” is a very profound statement. Because the Lamb stands after it has been slain (put to death). The Lamb was not laying down…dead and defeated. But the Lamb which is Jesus Christ, stands in victory over death; alive and is the only One worthy to read the book and to loose its seals.

“Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns,” The biblical meaning behind the word “horn” represents power and might, since animals use their horns as a weapon. It also means strength since the Psalmist describes the LORD as his strength, the horn of his salvation in,

Psalm 18:1-2 I will love Thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in Whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

It is also a known biblical fact which we have already covered in our past studies: Revelation 1:8 (God Is Alpha and Omega, The Almighty) That God Most High and Jesus Christ are the Almighty which means, they both are unlimited in power, might and strength.

The Lamb also having “seven eyes,” Biblically means omniscience. Which reveals to us that Jesus Christ the Son of God sees all things just like His Father, The Most High God. But that revelation goes a lot further than that.

According to the Holy Spirit writing through the Apostle John, “seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.” Did you catch that detail?

There are 7 continents that make up the whole geographical world. The seven Spirits of God, each are a horn and eye of the Lord. And they are sent out to each continent actively watching all activities on earth in perfect power, might and strength.

Ultimately representing metaphorically, Christianity going forth from out of Jesus Christ into all the world with the perfect power of God, strength and might! Doesn’t that sound like the “Great Commission” Jesus Christ has commanded us (the born-again Christians) to do?

Mark 16:15-18 And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be condemned.

And these signs will follow them that believe; In My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

You see, Jesus Christ is sending out those who are born of God through Jesus Christ and of God’s Holy Spirit with His power and with His might. And that still applies today, Because the Spirits of God (the eyes and horns of Christ) has been sent forth as He also sends forth His disciples; fully equipped, lacking no good thing.

Jesus Christ Is The Lamb

Now you may be asking yourself this question, how do we know for sure that the Lamb is Jesus Christ? Remember the statement I made at the very beginning of the Book of Revelation study that every verse in the Book of Revelation points back to other Scriptures throughout the Holy Bible?

So going all the way back to the “Sacrificial Law” in the Old Testament, it teaches that there must to be a blood sacrifice of different animals that God prescribes (namely a lamb in this case) as a sin offering unto the LORD (Leviticus 4:32) for the atonement (covering) for sins (Leviticus 4:35). The Book of Hebrews inspired by the same Holy Spirit who also inspired the entire Old Testament, reveals that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of that “Sacrificial Law” of the Old Testament (Hebrews 9-10)

Also, John the Baptist who received the Holy Spirit in His mother womb before He was born (Luke 1:13-17) whom also preached repentance by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit of God; also testifies by that same Spirit that Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God in,

John 1:29-36 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. This is He of whom I said, After me cometh a Man which is preferred before me: for He was before me. And I knew Him not: but that He should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon Him. And I knew Him not:

but He that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon Whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, the same is He which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; And looking upon Jesus as He walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

So this is how we know that Jesus Christ is the Lamb mentioned in the Book of Revelation. Because several Scriptures that was inspired by the Holy Spirit supports this to be true.

Revelation 5:7 And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him that sat upon the throne.

Jesus Christ, the slain Lamb, Who stood alive and is the only One worthy to open the book and loose its seals; took the book out of the right hand of God His Father who sat on the throne. That’s what this verse of Holy Scripture is showing us.

So how in the world can anyone continue to believe the false doctrine of the “oneness apostolic movement” which claims that Jesus Christ is God the Father, and Himself as the Lord and the Holy Ghost all in one being when we clearly see that God Who is sitting on the throne as one being, the Lamb as another being, takes the scroll out the right hand of God who sits on His throne.

As powerful as the Lord is with unlimited power, He cannot stand beside Himself and give Himself the book. It’s an absurd doctrine which this verse alone proves how foolish the wisdom and opinions of man really are.

All Creatures of Heaven, Earth And Below The Earth Worships Jesus Christ

These last verses of Revelation chapter 5 is a very straight forward read, yet should cause every reader to read these last verses slowly to take in much of what this is revealing to us here.

Revelation 5:8-14 And when He had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

After the four beasts and the twenty four elders bows down and worships God who sat on the throne first, then bows down and worships Jesus Christ the Lamb after He receives the book from the right hand of God His Father. And as they are bowed down with harps and vials of the prayers of the saints,

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Multitudes of angels round about the thrown with the four beasts and the twenty four elders joins in worshiping Jesus Christ the living Son of the living God as the Apostle John testifies next,

And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

Now this passage of Scripture is not revealing the exact numbers of Holy angels. Because there is really no way that John took the time to count all the holy angels present. This is John’s guess-stimation describing the multitudes that were present at that moment of time that John was so blessed to witness.

So, after the new song was sung, then all the holy angels and the four beasts and the twenty-four elders spoke these words unto Jesus Christ,

Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped Him that liveth for ever and ever.
